8: Sleep

TONI POV:

"Toni." I sit up. I look around and see I'm not in that bunker. "Cher." I look up at Veronica. "Toni you were tossing and turning." Veronica whispers. "What time is it?" I ask looking up at her. "It's 3 am."

"It was so real. I touched her. I spoke to her." I whisper. "I'm sorry Toni, I know you love her and you don't know what you're gonna do without her but you have to move on." Veronica sits in front of me. "That's easy for you." I whisper holding back tears. "Toni I know you love her more than anything is world, but she's gone, she's not coming back. You have to get over this someday or you're just going to be beating yourself over this." I start crying. She hugs me. "It's hard I know." She looks at me. "I love her. I don't know if I can get over her." She grabs me tissues. "You'll have to someday." She whispers to me. "I keep having these types of dreams."

VERONICA POV:

God! I feel so bad for Toni. "How is she taking everything?" Betty ask quietly taking my hand. "She's not doing well. She keeps having these dreams where she with Cheryl, and not all of them are real. Like she has memories but, last night, she woke up in such a panic." I whisper. We walk over to a small section of the river. "I don't know how to help her." I take a deep breath. "Is Toni seeing anyone? Like a professional." I shake my head. "She refuses." I look at Betty, she looks sad. "How are you doing with all of this?" I ask concerned. "I'm still processing all of this." She whispers. "I can't believe she did it." I take her hand. "How are you doing?" She ask me. "I'm just trying to keep everyone together." I whisper. "Have you cried since all of this?" She ask concerned. I shake my head. "I need to be there for everyone. Mostly Toni who has completely lost it." I sit up. "If you need to talk to someone, I'm here." She cups my cheek. "I'm fine." I whisper holding back tears. "If you need to talk." I shake my head. "I'm gonna be ok." I lie. I'm not ok.

I walk into the Topaz's house. I go up to Toni's room and she's just sitting on her bed being a mope. "Hey V." She looks at me. "How are you?" I ask quietly. "Fine." I take a deep breath.  "You?" She ask quietly. "I don't know." I answer honestly. "How was your date?" She ask slightly jealous. I can assume why. "Romantic." I smile sitting on the small couch in her room. "That's great." She whispers. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't rub all this is your face." I confess. "It's fine." She smiles. She hasn't smiled much recently but when she does it's amazing. Toni turns off the light and goes to sleep. I take a deep breath. I make sure Toni is asleep and pull out a joint.

I walk into school and everything sucks. "V!" Betty walks over to me. "Hey. Can we talk?" I ask quietly. "Yeah what's up?" I take her hand and walk into the Blue and Gold. "V! What's wrong?"  She ask concerned. "I-I don't know how much longer I can do this." I panic. "What do you mean?" She cups my cheeks. "Everything with Cheryl." I start crying into her.

TONI POV:

I decided to stay home. "Mom." I walk downstairs. She looks at me. "I think I want to talk to a personal." I whisper.
