They Only Notice my Mistakes

First Year

Raven finally arrived at platform 9 and 3 quarters. Her body overcomes with different feelings, really nervous, but also very excited. She boards the train as soon as she can since she didn't want to be forced to sit beside anybody. She took her charms book with her so that she doesn't get bored while riding the train. "Lumos". She says, "Lumos". Her wand tip lights up, but quickly goes off. Its still a big victory for her though..

As time passed, Raven was able to master the wand lightning charm. There was a knock on the compartment door. Raven's head quickly turned towards the door. Ohhhhh no.. now I have to meet someone.. she thought. "Anything from the trolly dear?" Said a calm voice. Raven let out a sigh of relief. "Umm.." she had a couple of sickles left in her pocket, so she decided to take some chocolate frogs. She was too nervous and didn't feel like eating, so a chocolate frog seemed good. "I'd like 5 a chocolate frogs please". Raven payed the money, and sat down a while, after deciding to try a chocolate frog. She was surprised when the chocolate frog was actually a frog. It was delicious though. Raven then picked up the card. Rowena Ravenclaw was written in a fancy writing across the top. There was a moving picture of a very pretty women wearing an elegant dress. After reading the card, Raven knew more about Ravenclaw than before. It was great! She decided it was the house she wanted.

     There was another knock at the compartment door. Oh no.. she thought.. now I have to actually meet someone she thought again. "Hello, have you by any chance seen a toad?" Said a young girl with a friendly voice. Raven seemed confused, she has an owl after all, so she doesn't know the struggles of finding missing toads. "No.. have you lost it?" She asked "No" replied the girl "a boy named Neville lost one". "Sorry I haven't.. but I would like to help you find it!" replied Raven. Having to know Hogwarts students before arriving did seem like a challenge.. but she still needs to feel more confident. Her father always told her that. In addition, she really wanted a friend. "You don't need to really.." said the girl. "Its okay! I would like to help" replied Raven. "my name is Raven.. Raven Ward." Its the first time she introduced herself to someone. She never had friends before. Always lonely.. "Im Hermione, Hermione Granger." They both shake hands. "Well.. i guess we should get going to finding that toad!" Says Hermione.

     They both get out of the compartment. Hermione says that she hadn't checked a few, Raven suddenly realized what she put herself into.. she went to the one on the right and Hermione to the left. Raven seemed nervous.. She really doesn't like talking to people. But she already volunteered to help. She let out a big sigh, then they both go in at the same time. She knocked on the compartment door and went in. "Excuse me" she began. "Have any of you, by any chance seen a toad?" There were 3 boys in the compartment. One was blonde and the other 2 were extremely fat.. or rather scary. The blonde boy said "what do you want? No we haven't now leave". Felling broken she left the compartment. Have I done something wrong? Why was the boy so mean? Was I not polite enough? She asked herself. Hermione came out of her compartment with a smile. "Guess who i met!?" She said. "Who?" asked Raven. Trying to forget what have just happened. "I met Harry Potter!! I cant believe it!"said Hermione. They both read everything about him, being the only one who survived the killing curse. "Wow! I knew it!" said Raven, a bit too excited. "Do you know him?" Asked Hermione. "No" Raven replied. "I just calculated when he would come to hogwarts, and it was the same year as mine!" "Oooh.. thats smart!" Replied Hermione.

When the students arrived at the castle, they were greeted by a women wearing a neat cloak and a hat. She addressed herself as professor Minerva McGonagall. She explained about the four houses and told them that the sorting ceremony will begin shortly, then she left. As soon as she was out, a boy said "Its true then? Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts." Raven realized that the boy wearing circular glasses was the Harry Potter. He looked shocked himself. The boy continued and said "Im Malfoy.. Draco Malfoy." A red head standing beside Potter chuckled a bit. Malfoy shot him a dirty look. "You think my name is funny do you? No need to ask yours. Red hair.. and a hand-me-down robe.. you must be a Weasley.". He turned to Potter and continued "Don't go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there" He tried to shake Potters hand, but Harry replied "I think I can tell the wrong sort for myself thanks." Draco Malfoy looked like someone had just punched him in the face. At that moment professor McGonagall came back, so Malfoy was forced to go back to his spot. He shot Potter one last look and followed the rest to the great hall.
