Her footsteps descended down the curb. Her sharp intakes of breathing giving away her running form. Blood rushes to her ears, the only sound filling them are the rhythmic beats of her heart. Her hands flail around as she grabs onto the brick wall and dashes into the dark. Without looking she slams into another brick wall, a dead end. Her eyes examine it, contemplating whether or not she can jump it. It's too late, she hears them. A slam echos within the corner and she cowers in the dark.
Pathetic whimpers leave her, hands covering her face as to not witness the monstrosity. "Please," her voice croaks. "Please don't kill me. I don't want to die!"
Her pleading is hushed when hands wrap around her neck and shove her into the wall. She gasps for air, her eyes bulging at the figure in front of her. Hands scratching at her neck all she could do was watch the mask person choke her to death. Their grip was too tight, at this rate she would die. That much she realized and if she were to vanish by the likes of this person, she deserves to know who they are. Hands reaching out, she claws away at the mask. Shocked by her actions they drop her along with their mask.
Muttering a curse, the hint of moonlight shines off their face. The girl cracks a little smile of what energy she has left, she knew who her killer was. Their looks and their identity, she could leave a message but there was no time. Her eyes shut closed, hands reaching out from the dark to drown her. All she could remember before her consciousness left her was the masked figure standing over her and the glint of amusement in their eyes.

"Did you know a single human brain generates more electricity than all of the telephones in the world combined?"
"My child is so smart." Daph's eyes glowed with pride at Molly.
Molly rolled her eyes. "I told you to stop calling me that, you're only older than me by a year. Besides the height difference isn't something you can ignore." She points at the space between the two.
It wasn't that Daphne was short more like Molly was exceptionally tall. For someone at her age she was too tall to only be fourteen and in high school. It's a wonder how she somehow functions at the height of 6'3. Doors were not her friends and her neck seemed to bulge with muscles at the amount of times she looked down to make eye contact with others. She was a giant among grains of rice, maybe she could climb that beanstalk and hang out with Jack and the Giant. Don't be too surprised if she does manage to.
"Stop with the smart shit Molly." Tae slams her hand onto Molly's back. A replacement for the pat on the head for she was too short to reach.
"My other child is here," Daph announces. The two roll their eyes at their ridiculous friend, they've learned to let themselves be called her children.
"Did you see the new BTS album?" Soon the two began fangirling of their favorite topic, a Korean boy band.
Their 'mother' tunes them out and waits for two others to join them. Soon Izzy and Lena were at their side and the group joked around with anything they could think of. The day turned short when a woman runs into them, her hair and eyes wild.
"Please, you need to help me!" She screams hysterically and latches onto Lena's shoulders.
"What the fu-"
Before Tae could finish her words the woman shoved Lena into her. "Oh god, they're going to kill me," her voice shakes as she rakes her hands into her hair.
She looks back up at the group. "You have to help me," She pleads.
"Why?" Tae snorts and Molly pushes her slightly.
"Ok sure, what's wrong?" Daph the kindest of the group walks toward the woman but the reasonable one; Lena pulls her back.
"I'm sorry but we don't know you. If you need serious help go to the police station." Her words are cool, but the hand on Daph's shoulders shook.
This woman was obviously on drugs, Lena thought. She couldn't let herself and her friends get hurt. It was the tactical reason to go now and leave this woman alone. A pang of guilt did arrive when she thought that this woman really did need help, but she's always known the phrase stranger danger. The woman locks eyes with her, and her breath hitches up a little when the woman grins.
"Alright then. Nice meeting you all, thanks for this." The petrified woman from before was nowhere in sight and instead stood this calm lady. It was terrifying really, two different personalities coming from the same person.
She walks away leaving the group stunned and one thing was wired into their brains, what just happened?
When school came by, the group couldn't stop but let their other friends in on what happened earlier. It was the talk of the day and they were still a little messed up after the incident. Everything about the situation seemed odd and their friends agreed.
"Wow weird crap keeps happening to you guys." Xena reaches for Izzy's sandwich and Izzy slaps her hand away.
"Don't touch my food, ugly hoe." Izzy snarls and takes a bite of her sandwich.
Xena glares at her, standing up and trying to grab the bread in her hands. The two begin arm wrestling each other for the sandwich and Tae swoops in grabbing it and taking a huge bite. The other two surprised at her actions begin arguing. It's true, the three of them are the notorious fat arses of the group. The three are equivalent to Shaggy and Scooby from the cartoon series, each unable to function without the other two.
"Will those three ever shut it?" Molly resembled Velma in every way but appearance. Their looks were completely different but the brain was all too same.
"Probably never," Gabby chimes in. The backbone of the group everyone needed but didn't notice. If she were to disappear, this gang would go up in flames. Much like the technology in the mystery van.
Yes gang, you are looking at the Better than Scooby Doo gang. Each member a vital part of the gang. They were similar to the Scooby Doo gang, but much better in every way. For one the more and merrier and two they're better as people too. Joining this gang is the wish of everyone at their school, everyone wants to sit with the cool kids, teachers don't talk back to them, children look up to them, quite amazingly stupid really. A comedy show on the brink of closing down, but for some reason people love it too much to close it. The gang helped out the police, as stupid as it sounds a group of kids is better at solving mysteries than the police.
What they didn't know was something laid ahead of them. Something bigger than just who stole the last chocolate chip cookie. One that would shake them to their very core. As smart as they thought they were, they were far too damn stupid to understand what would be happening soon.
"Lena that was a good call from before. I would have gotten us killed or worse." Daphne plays around with her food, still pondering what would have happened to them all if Lena had not stopped her.
"It's alright, she was believable, even I almost fell for it."
Lena and Daph, the Fred and Daphne duo. Smart and kind linked together, though they were more of best friends than a couple. But the again who knows, this isn't really Scooby Doo.
"Ok," Ari picks up her plate. "I'm not involving myself with this shit. Peace!" She calls out from behind her as she leaves the cafeteria.
Oh and the person that's rational and more of a person than a cartoon character.
—
Too much people to add into this book. All the main characters have been added so if you're not in this chapter you're a secondary character like Ari. I'm the best character tbh, narrators are the bomb.
Most of y'all are villains, but not important ones.
Grammar can die in a hole, if there's a typo just tell me. I've been writing this shit on my phone all day so give me a break.
