The Badass Babe - Capter 3

"What's the time? I have to go at three, my mom's picking me up for my ballet training" Rosalie drained the last of her smoothie and licked her lips. I looked up at the big grandfather clock that was tucked away in a corner of the shop, and let out an embarrassing sound.

"Shoot!" Picking up my phone from the table we all sat around, I quickly tapped in my password and clicked on my contact's to call Sammy. "It's two minutes to three" I told Jacob and Rosalie, whom both stared incredulously at me. I shot them what should've been a smile, but surely came out as a grimace instead. Jacob's shoulders slumped forward, and Rosalie put her hand on his, both of them resting on the table. She squeezed their hands and kissed him on his temple. She murmured something against his ear, and he smiled; snorting at what she's whispering. He turned to kiss her on the cheek. "'Kay babe?" she asks him and Jacob nods. The couple got out of their seats to hug each other goodbye.

"We're waiting on you, mister" Sammy Jo snarked in my ear and I sighed loudly, rubbing one of my temples to ease my sudden headache. I was supposed to pick them up eight minutes ago, so we could come home and eat a late lunch together with Sadie, mom and Mya at three fifteen.

"Yeah, I know. Where are you and Nora? I'm at The Bookshelf Café, so it's not that far away from the mall exit" I told her, and got up from my seat too, and shrugged awkwardly on my jacket while still holding the phone. This didn't work, since I dropped it. Shit.

I was cursing when I picked it up, and put it to my ear to hear Sammy talking.
"... go there, so we'll meet up at the car. Sounds good? Nora's talking to mom; I think she said something about bad traffic so we might not get into too much trouble." Oh thank god. Fishing up my keys from my jacket, I told Sammy to get going. And then I turned around to look at what I hopefully could call my new friends.

"Nice to meet you Jack, see you at school; yeah?" Jacob said, a sunny smile overtaking his face. I nodded, and he lifted his hand to shake mine. After shaking his hand, I got an armful of Rosalie in my arms; who kissed my cheek and told me that I wouldn't worry for school because they'll take care of me. I snorted, and patted her back lightly.

"Bye!" she detached herself from me, and I briskly walked out of the door. Okay, plan 'Getting Home Before Mom Realizes We Were Late' has officially started.

Now I just have to find the twins and the car, as quick as possible.

Finding where I'd parked the car was easier said than done. Seriously. Because this parking lot was bigger than Sadie's ego, and that said something. Her ego's so big it can almost crush the Eiffel Tower.

"Fuck it," I muttered, and dragged a hand through my hair. "I'll ask someone if they've seen Sammy and Nora" My phone had died just a couple of seconds ago, pulling a 'The battery is at 35% but whoops it all of a sudden jumped to 1%, so I should die when you need me the most' card. I really needed a new one.

I turned around, and bumped into a fast-walking person arguing on their phone. This made me so surprised - the fact that I crashed into them, not them arguing on a phone; don't be ridiculous - that I managed to pull the person down to the ground with me. I landed on my butt, but the other person didn't have the same luck; because they landed on their elbows.

"What the fuck?! What do you think you're doing? Are you dumb? Oh my god," The person - which I now saw was a girl around my age - continued to angrily mutter, picking up her battered phone that was lying beside her. Fuck, if I was the one that cracked her phone then I'm screwed. I don't have enough money to even buy myself a new one! And it was one of the new Iphone's too, so that just made everything even better.

"You should be so happy my phone was like that before, idiot. Watch where you're going next time, or I'll send Slasher after you" She spit out, stormy blue eyes burning holes into mine. Well damn, she wasn't very nice.
