Hi, my name is Khane, and this is my one-shot story about my life.

"Love, kausapin mo naman ako, please."

I was trying to get my boyfriend's attention. I didn't know why, but he wasn't paying me any mind. He was too busy with his phone.
"Love, please. Ano bang nagawa ko sa'yo?"
"Ano ba, Khane! Tumigil ka nga, ang ingay-ingay mo! Nakakairita ka na!" Kian snapped.

Kian is my amazing boyfriend. Magdadalawang taon na kami next week, and here I was, still trying to win him over.

"Anong ginagawa mo? Nandito ka nga sa tabi ko, pero wala naman dito ang atensyon mo," I said.
"Bakit, ikaw naman ang may gusto na magkita tayo, ano pa bang inarte mo?" he replied.

Galit na galit na ako. I was trying to control it, but it was boiling inside me.
"So ganun? Gusto ko lang kaya tayo nagkita kasi pinilit kita? Tangina naman, Kian! Ano na naman bang katarantaduhan 'to?!"
"Khane, sabi ko sa'yo, busy ako! Pero kinukulit mo pa rin ako!"
"Busy? Wala ka namang ginagawa dito sa bahay niyo! Ako pa nga itong pumunta rito, tapos ikaw pa ang maarte? Bahala ka sa buhay mo, nakakasawa ka na!"

I stormed out of their house, angry and frustrated. I started walking away.

"Khane!" I heard someone call my name from behind, but I ignored it.
"Khane!" they called again.
Still, I ignored it.
"Khane!" the voice called for the third time.
"Bakit?" I finally responded, turning around to see Kian's friend.

"Anong bakit, Khane? Nasiraan ka na ba ng ulo? Bat mag-isa ka? Asan yung boyfriend mo?"
"Yung kaibigan mo? Andun sa bahay nila, busy daw. Kaya iniwan ko na para hindi ako makasagabal. Sige, una na ako. Bye."

"Khane, baliw ka ba? Delikado sa daan. Ihahatid na kita," he offered.
"'Di na, baka ma-issue pa tayo. Kaya kong mag-isa."

His friend seemed concerned, so he asked, "May problema ba kayo ni Kian? Lately, lagi kayong nag-aaway."
I sighed heavily and admitted, "Hindi ko alam. Lagi siyang busy, laging hawak ang phone niya. Nasasaktan na ako."

Before I could continue, Kian suddenly appeared on his motorbike.
"Ano ba, Kian? Bitawan mo ako, uuwi na ako!" I snapped.
"Ihahatid na kita," he insisted.
"Doon na lang ako sasakay ng tricycle, para 'di na ako makaabala sa'yo," I said bitterly.

His friend tried to intervene, "Bro, salamat, ha! Buti na lang nakita mo si Khane."

As I walked away, I heard Kian call my name again, but I kept moving. I had had enough.

After a few moments, he pulled up in front of me. "Sakay na, Khane. Wag kang maarte," he said.

I had no choice but to swallow my pride and ride with him. We didn't speak. Finally, I broke the silence.
"Sa plaza mo na lang ako ihatid," I said.
"Bakit doon? Kala ko ba gusto mong umuwi?"
"Wala kang paki," I mumbled under my breath, but he heard me.

When we arrived, he stopped the motorbike. "Baba na. Mag-ingat ka. Uuwi ka agad ha, baka hanapin ka ni tita," he said.
"Sige, salamat," I said, my voice breaking as I turned away. Tears flowed freely as I sat on a bench, feeling the weight of everything.

As I sat there crying, lost in thought, I suddenly heard a voice.
"Tigil na, papangit ka pag umiiyak ka."

I looked up and saw Justine, one of my closest guy friends, standing in front of me. I couldn't hold it in any longer. I hugged him tightly, crying on his shoulder. He didn't say much, just let me cry and patted my back until I calmed down.

When I finally pulled away, I felt embarrassed. "Sorry, Tine. Nabasa ka tuloy."
"Okey lang, ikaw pa ba?" he said, messing up my hair playfully.

He always knew how to make me smile. We walked for ten minutes, and in that short time, I almost forgot my problems. I was so lucky to have him. When we reached my house, I hugged him again.

"Thank you, Tine. You're the best," I said.

"Ngumiti ka lagi ha? Hindi bagay sayo ang umiiyak," he replied.

"Sige na, uwi ka na. Mag-ingat ka. Text mo ako ha. Bye, I love you... as a friend! Hahaha," I joked.

Tine left, and I went inside. I couldn't stop thinking about everything that had happened, especially the strange call I received from an unknown number. They said Kian was seeing someone else, and told me to check tomorrow. I didn't know if I should believe it, but my heart was already heavy with doubt.

The next day, our anniversary was approaching, but I couldn't shake off the feeling of dread. Would I really find out the truth? Or was it all just in my head?
