Chapter 8: Amber's lies to Jack

As Jake tells what happened, Amber tries to find another way out of this hell hole. "When I get my hands on him, he is a dead man". Amber said to herself. "Ugh! No matter what I do, nothing works!", Amber said. Back to Jack and the others. "Where do I go next?", Tia asked looking at the red light. "Go straight.", Jack said in a calm voice. "What's wrong? You look like you've just seen a ghost". Paige asked. "Sorry, my mind's a bit off". He said answering her. "Where are we going again? I don't know where I'm going". Tia said driving straight until she stopped at a stop sign. "Go straight, then take a left at this upcoming corner." "Okay, so what happened between you and Amber? I thought you two were an item?", Paige asked becoming more curious again. As Tia was driving, she started to think about Amber. "I hope she's alright. I want to help her but, I don't know how to help her or if I can help her.", She said as tears are starting to come down her face. Jack and Paige noticed and comforted her. "Hey, we'll get her back. Don't know how but, we'll get her back safe and sound.", he said smiling. "Make a right here, I won't be here long." He got out of the car, looked back before he got back inside the car and went on. "I hope we're doing the right thing." Paige said looking towards Jack's direction. "I hope he's telling the truth. We could have helped her in some way." Tia said while she checked her phone to see if she got any new messages or calls. "I hate that they keep us in the dark. I thought no secrets be kept between us, and that we tell each other everything no matter how bad it was.", She went on in anger putting her phone away in her bag. Before Paige could answer Jack came heading back to the car and got inside. "Everything ok?", Paige asked him. "Drive.", He said to Tia. "You okay?" "Just drive!", He yelled. Tia was shocked, but did what she was told and drove off. 

"Do you know who Gia really is?!", he asked both girls. "No." Paige answered with a confused look on ger face. "Gia Summers, from Middle School?", Tia asked looking surprised. Jack nodded at her. "Yeah, what about her?" "She's the reason why we're in this mess in the first place. Turn right at this light." He said. All three remined quiet for the rest of the ride. Until Paige broke the silence. "What does Gia have to do with any of this anyway? Why is she the reason we're in trouble? Does she have something on us? Or Amber?" "I don't know, but whatever Gia has on her or on us it won't be good. We need to find a way to save the money in order to save Amber. I have some money saved up..." (phone starts to ring). "Sorry.", Paige said turning it off, but stopped to her surprise. It was Gia. "Answer it, but put it on speaker." Jack said. Paige did just that and put it on speaker. "Hello? Gia?" "Hi, Paige. I know you and Jack and Tia are with you. Can I speak to them, please?" "You're on speaker Gia. What do you want?" "Hi, Jack. I heard what happened to Amber. Poor young girl." Gia laughed on the other end. "Don't act like you care for her Gia. You're the reason why she... I mean we're in all this mess. So, I'll ask you again and you better answer. What do you want?" Tia asked all upset and angry as she gripped the steering wheel while driving.
