The Hardest Battle Ever Fought

One look sent knees to the ground

Stray Heart saw swords tumbling down

Stone walls crumbled to mounds

One race, one pace, a thundering sound

Behold an army of angels

As steel shatters way below

I know this will be the last time

I run through familiar snow

See the headstone in front of me

Mid-unsheathing of a knife

I halt

A grimace

A sorrowful sight

It is a figure silhouetted in light

Soul astound

Heart a-flound

Turn around!

Turn around!

I fall to the ground

Listen!

Hear the pounding of my heart!

It is a fatal attraction

A deadly start

You hold the keys

to a Pandora’s box

Something I pray never unlocks

Love dies young

Please spare me the plight

Young hearts

are wild

but fragile with fright

Bloodied white flags are bound

to own the night

Oh,

leave me to myself.
