Arabella's POV
I grasp onto my mama's leg as I walk into my third grade class. I'm at a new school in Chicago, Illinois. I moved here from Florida with my mom, dad and older sister, Cassy, who's in sixth grade.
"Hi, my name is Ms. Dana, and I'll be your teacher this year! What's your name?" a lady with short blond hair and pretty green eyes asks.
I just stare at her, hiding behind my moms legs.
"This is Arabella. Sorry, she's a little shy," mom explains.
"Oh, that's ok. It's always scary starting a new school in the middle of the yaer," Ms. Dana sighs. "Anyway, how about you take a seat next to Shawn. He's the boy in the back corner."
I hesitantly let go of mom's leg, then slowly walk to the back of the room. I set my backpack on the floor, then sit on the plastic, blue chair. My mom and Ms. Dana talk for a minute, then my mom waves and leaves. I look down at my desk, then a soft voice says, "hello."
I look up, and see the boy next to me looking at me with a small smile. I give him a small smile, too.
"Hi. I'm Arabella," I say, extending my arm.
"I'm Shawn," he says, shaking my hand.
Ms. Dana starts the lesson, so Shawn and I sit forward and listen as Ms. Dana talks about grammer.
hey look, another Shawn book XD. Anyway, this is 11:15 and I hope you like it:)))
