|How to Love the Enemy|
★Katie★
The next morning I'm woken by the rays of light shining through my small window. Everything is silent in the small room and I snuggle further back into the comfort of my warm blankets. I sigh in pleasure.
Suddenly, my eyes snap open and I spring out of bed. Running over to the mirror, I check my reflection for any sign of a prank, but I look the exact same always. Maybe he's waiting till later...
'Wow, he was right when he said I have no faith in him' I snort.
Pushing my tangled curls away from my face, I rush to get dressed in leggings and an old camp sweatshirt. I run outside into the bitter crisp air and over to the Hermes cabin.
As usual, the cabin is overly crowded with camper and their sleeping bags; their resting forms covering the ground and making it harder for me to get past. A smile creeps up my face when I recall the night I sneaked into the cabin to see Travis.
As quietly as possible, I creak open the door and am pleasantly surprised to see Travis sprawled across his bed still asleep. His messy hair is matted to his forehead and his mouth slightly open.
"Travis?" He stays silent.
I lean forward and flick him on the nose. "Are you awake?"
He shifts in his sleep and let's out a loud groan. Suddenly, with his eyes still shut, he reaches out and pulls me on top of his chest. A cough of surprise is heard from me as I land on him.
"Go back to bed." He mumbles through exhaustion.
"Travis, what the-"
He cuts me off by placing his hand over my mouth and turning his body, so I fall into a position laying next to him.
I allow myself to melt into his warm embrace for a few minutes. His smell was an intoxicating scent, something that I couldn't describe. As if, he had bottled up and worn the smell of everything good in the world, and not just woke up. I inhaled his comforting aroma and moved further into his embrace.
...
A short amount of time had passed before I heard other campers moving around in the cabin. I raised myself onto my elbows and looked over at Travis, who was unexpectedly watching me already. He sent me a small smile
"Well, this was definitely a great way to wake up." He smiles at me cheekily.
I move the hair that was falling over his eyes. "You mean me flicking you on the nose." He chuckles.
"C'mon, let's get up before any of your siblings start harassing mine." I tease him.
He sticks his tongue out at me.

After eating breakfast and going to my lessons, I had some free time before the dinner bell would be heard. Of course, since Travis was still teaching archery, I spent this time in the strawberry fields.
I was planting some new flowers, minding my own business, when I heard footsteps coming closer to me until they came to a stop. Squinting my eyes from the harsh sun, I looked up at the two girls from the Aphrodite cabin. Not to be rude, but they were pretty much your stereotypical Aphrodite kids; the shiny blond hair, bright eyes, and full face of makeup.
