Selena had fallen asleep during the drive home, her head resting against the window as the quiet hum of the car lulled her into slumber. Megan, feeling the weight of the day's events, pulled into the driveway and shifted the car into park. She took a deep breath, then gently reached over to wake her sister.

"Selena, wake up," Megan said softly, nudging her shoulder.

Selena blinked awake, rubbing her eyes. "Are we home?" she asked groggily, still lost in the haze of sleep.

"Yeah, we're home. Come on, let's go inside."

Both sisters got out of the car and walked up to the front door, the weight of what they had to tell their mom hanging heavily in the air. Megan knocked, and almost immediately, their mom flung the door open. Her eyes filled with tears the second she saw them, and she pulled both girls into a tight embrace.

"Oh my god! My babies are alright!" their mom cried, clutching them as if she'd never let go. Then her voice wavered. "Where's Sabrina?"

The question hung between them like a bomb ready to go off. Selena and Megan exchanged a tense look, neither wanting to speak. Finally, Selena gently led their mom to the sofa, sitting her down.

"Mom, there's no easy way to say this..." Selena began, her voice trembling. "Sabrina... she's gone. She didn't make it."

For a moment, there was nothing but silence. Then their mom let out a heart-wrenching wail, crumbling into sobs as she clutched her chest. "No, no, no!" she screamed through her tears, shaking her head violently. She turned toward Megan, her face twisted with grief and anger. "This is your fault!" she cried, her voice breaking. "You were supposed to protect them! How could you let this happen?"

Megan stood frozen for a second, shock and guilt flashing across her face. But then her expression hardened, her jaw clenching. "Are you serious?" she muttered, her voice low and bitter. She turned sharply and stormed toward the front door, slamming it behind her as she stepped outside.

Selena jumped up, rushing after her. She caught Megan's arm just as she was about to get back in the car. "Megan, wait, where are you going?"

Megan yanked her arm free, her eyes flashing with anger and hurt. "I'm done with this. I'm tired of this family always treating me like I'm the problem. It's always my fault, right? Well, you won't have to worry about me anymore because I'm leaving." Her voice cracked slightly, betraying the pain beneath her anger.

"Megan, don't do this. Please," Selena pleaded, but Megan was already getting into the car. Selena banged on the window, her voice growing desperate. "Megan, wait! Come back, we can talk about this!"

But Megan didn't look back. She started the engine and drove off into the night, leaving Selena standing in the driveway, her heart heavy as she watched her sister disappear down the street.
