The Rain

The crack of lightning slams into the ground as layers upon layers of rain coat everything in a 7 mile radius.  Even his appearance was intimidating, his thick icey blue hair surrounded his head like the mane of a lion.  The bandage he wore was tightened around his torso and rapped around his shoulder.  Even as it was raining his hair stuck straight up and fixed to his liking.  I felt as though I was paralyzed, all I could do is breath, blink, and stare at the grey skinned lion-like human standing in front of me.
It was slowly getting dark as the sun lowered behind the mountains and it was already hard to see.  A few bats squeaked as they flew overhead.  The rain began to fall harder and instead of just droplets they soon became marble sized and the thunder started to rattle and shake the ground under my feet.  He stood their staring at the ground clueless that I was standing only a few feet away.   The desert ground wasn't used to this kind of rain so soon I could feel the water form a gigantic puttle soaking my shoes and the ends of my pants.  The wind started to pick up and it blew into my mouth making my mouth dry and feel like dirt was in it.
From fear, my knees started to shake as I attempted to move again.  As if he realized it, he slowly and steadily raised his head, I felt a bead of sweat start roll down from my forehead but get stopped by a drop of rain.  I felt my fear grow as the blood from my face drained like a pipe.  My fingers began to tingle and shake as his hair flopped out of the pile of strains and a few stuck up and few out to the side.  The inside of me was burning up while the outside was freezing.
By now his bandage was sopping wet and dripping from the sides.  His eyes were covered by his hair by now, but I was able to see his chin.  It was slightly rounded at the end, but the bottom of his cheek rose up to the tip of his ear lobe and almost disappeared behind it.  His lips were tightened to a perfect straight line as if he was focusing.  What felt like hours for him to raise head, was only a few seconds.  I felt the fear bubbling inside me ready to burst, but nothing happened.
The fear was gnawing at my intestines making me feel sick.  The butterflys in my stomach turned into bees making my ears ring.  As the ringing got louder, his head got higher.  Now I was able to see the bottom half of his nose.  The ringing in my ears was the only thing I could hear at this point and it just added to the escalating fear inside me discarding my energy.  The sun was almost out of sight now and the only really helpful lighting was the lightning flashes that happened every few seconds.
The hair in his face moved to the side and showed his lower eyelid.  His eyes were shut, but not squeezed shut, just lightly closed.  The terror inside of me had filled my toes all the way to my head and back down again.  His head was fully up now and his eyes were still closed.  That is when time seemed to stop, my breath caught in my throat.
My anxiety level was through the roof, there was a slight tightening of my chest and muscles when his eyelid twitched , but didn't open.  I could almost feel my heart beating out of my chest.  My breathe still stuck in my throat, when a bright flash of lightning came crashing down ten feet behind him, blinding me and made my ears hear a piercing ring that stayed until I could see again.  Once I could see, I saw the worst part of these few minutes, his eye was open.  His eye was a bright red and was staring straight at me.  It was like I was in a trance, I couldn't look away from the only bright color I could see, red.
