"-your boyfriend is nice." (F/n) tells me as we sit together in lunch. We've been kinda running away from Brendon since he's being extra insistent and I need some time to swallow everything that happened.
"Yeah, I guess." I mutter, thinking. Some people tried to get close to me lately or to be friends - of course I rejected them since it was obviously out of interest; it's impressive how people can be so dumb sometimes.
"I just think Brendon should accept the whole situation at once. I get it he really likes you, but he needs to have some notion, y'know."
"I agree." I shift, not really finding it comfortable to sit down on the floor with my back against the wall for a long time. "I honestly thought he'd shrug it off after meeting Frank or something."
"Yeah, he should." She says. "Maybe I should talk with him-"
"You don't need to." Turning my head towards her, I shrug. "I think we'll eventually sort this out."
"Really?" She asks and, at the same time, the bell signing the end of the lunch break rings. I nod and she sighs, standing up then helping me to do the same. "Good luck." She smiles and I thank her.
When I met Brendon again, it was in front if the gates, after class, where he tackled me into a hug and we said our goodbyes. He also said something about texting me later, but it's not like I'll answer - I mean, I don't like answering people at all so I always do it either after five hours or don't. Frank's absence leaves me confused, but I don't care about it and head home alone as usual. There, I don't find Frank either. Curious - I think to myself - he's probably off so some demon thing - I decide to use the time alone to read a book that was forgotten on my nightstand until now.
Oh, no one else is home again. Do you know what does it mean? I'm going to sit in the living room instead of in my bedroom.
I sigh in frustration with the protagonist of the book's actions, not seeing the point on what she does - like, show could've told him she was investigating the money thing by herself, but he also could've believed in what she said about the other guy.
"Hey." The sudden voice startles me - I yelp and jump lightly.
"Frank!" I say scolding when noticing the demon there, who laughs at my reaction, and shake my head. I roll my eyes, closing the book on the coffee table after making sure the bookmark was in the right place. "Where were you?"
"Out." He says simply, leaning back on the couch. Still confused, I'm just not able to make another question because he does so first. "So, how was your day?"
"Why the interest?" He shrugs in response and I exhale, "Fine, how about y-"
"Wanna go somewhere?" Frank interrupts me again, making me shoot him a glare.
At the lack of response, I feel forced to answer. "Like where?"
"Cafe?" He asks, "I feel like I need some."
"Always in need of coffee." I smile, standing up then looking down at him. "You coming or not?" I ask teasingly, noticing he still hasn't moved.
"Help." He says extending a hand and I scoff. "Please." He pouts.
"Not like it'll make any difference." I say grabbing his hand and pulling him up. He grins at me and I breathe a chuckle. "Lazy succubus."
"Hey!" He whines when I cup his cheeks and press them together. He's cute.
"I like your face." I say truthfully, but surely my grin will be a reason for him to not believe me.
"What kind of compliment is this?" Frank's words come out with certain difficulty and he raises an eyebrow.
