For his entire life, Jaehan dreamed and wished to have a band of his own.  In his entire music life, he only joined and leave a band and never has the chance to taste how it feels to lead a band on his own. He doesn't care whether he wanted to be a vocalist or the center of attention. As long as he is in charge of drumming, he is happy.

Now that he entered college, he could do anything. For Jaehan, college is a chance for him to showcase what he could do, and then some. He can also decide about who will he be. He had been thinking to act like a total bad boy, or maybe just a normal guy who wants to make friends. Ah, he doesn't know. It's too much!

"Damn, this is everything!" he mumbled and later smiled. First day of college but he is alone. No matter. Maybe he'll progress along the way. He ventured down the faculty of humanity hallway and looked around his surrounding, taking them all in. To transition from one point to another new point might be surprising but he is sure that everything will be okay eventually.

He took his phone for a second and looked at his phone screen. It is said that he is going to learn about language skills first at room 4.4102. And what he did? Why, any normal freshman would do on their first day of course; go to the class.

He entered his designated class and immediately, awkwardness filled inside the room. No one spoke with each other and the ones who actually spoke are just people who already knew each other for a long time. Well, this will be hard. Jaehan choose his seat and decided it's best if he sat at the back row. He's not in the mood to pay attention anyway, so what's the point? He plugged his earphone onto his two ears, blasted some music and just ... waited.

"E-excuse me?" Jaehan suddenly felt a light tap on his shoulder, causing him to take off his earphone almost immediately and looked at that person.

"Yeah? You okay?"

"I was just wondering, whether the seat next to you is taken or not," the boy pointed at a seat next to him. It was clear that no bag was placed at that seat, thus it's empty.

"Yeah. No one sits there. Feel free to claim it." Jaehan smiled to him, and returned to his phone. Grateful, the boy who talked to Jaehan took his seat and didn't say anything afterwards.

"Um, my ... name is Kangsoo !"

Jaehan looked at the young man, who now will be remembered as Kangsoo in Jaehan's life book. He locked his phone screen and stretched his hand, as a gesture he wants to know this young man even more, as well as introducing himself.

"Kang Jaehan. It looks like we'll be stuck together for the next 4 years."

"Or 3 and a half, that's according to us!" Kangsoo replied, and that caused Jaehan to let out a chuckle.

"I don't know about you, but I'm planning to take everything slow and just, you know. Graduate at 4 years," he told Kangsoo. It was never his intention to graduate quickly anyway, "you want to graduate at 3 and a half years?"

"If I can, I will. If I can't well, well yeah. 4 years is fine."

"You really need to start taking things slowly. I don't know about you but I'm not planning to do things quickly."

"Yeah, maybe I should."

The two kept on talking about random stuff that they two could think off. From their conversation, Jaehan could infer that Kangsoo is actually quite the silent and shy person. He rarely starts off a conversation topic and mostly is just Jaehan. Maybe he is just shy, he thought. That's understandable, in his opinion. They continued, until 3 students was seen entering the room as if they were just running a rest.

"Yo Gano!!!!" one of them screamed in triumph, his hands forming into two fists as he threw it up to the air.

"Seungjoon ... that, that's technically unfair!" another one of the runner complained, but he also made his way to find his desired seat.

"I don't think I'm being unfair. I have shorter legs than most of you guys so, you're just looking to find a reason to drag me down and guess what? Ain't gonna happen, Minho. Ain't gonna!"

Kangsoo and Jaehan looked at the 3 runners with a look of concerned as well as confused, but more to the confused. Why were they running to the class in the first place? They were not running late anyway.

"They seemed to have fun," Kangsoo commented, "but why running though?"

"Students. Just like us. I'll probably just let that slide." Jaehan replied, now checking on his phone yet again. The three students took their seat and they continued to chat with themself, until the lecturer came into the class.

Their start was rather rough but do believe me, that this is nowhere near the rising action of their story
