Chapter 42

After lunch it was Ravenclaw and Hufflepuffs turn at doing the cold and flu potion class.  Slughorn changed the board to see if anyone was paying attention to the right ingredients and the steps. They chose each other as partners in the classroom. Dudley and Susan sat together and help each other. Geraldine wandered around the class room to see what everyone was doing then she came across Dudley and Susan she asked "Hey so what you think it the task in hand?" Susan replied "Seems quite simple, I enjoy doing potions." Dudley said "Yeah but the ingredients on the board is mixed up. The last ingredient on first half should be at the bottom of the second row, vice versa with the bottom ingredient." Geraldine said "Wow correct! Well done Dudley." Geraldine went over to Horace and said "Dudley found your mistake." Then Horace wandered over and said "Well done Dudley twenty five points to Ravenclaw." Dudley said"Thanks but Susan noticed it first, I was doing the potion without looking at the board that's why she asked why I put that ingredient first not last in the second half of the potion." Horace looked at Susan and asked "Is this true?" Susan nodded "I am just shy when teachers get the problem wrong, I allow the other student sitting next to me get the credit." Horace said "Well twenty five points to Hufflepuff as well." Everyone finished their potions and headed on their way to dinner. Geraldine and Horace were left alone and Horace asked "Do you want to come to dinner?" Geraldine said "Okay let's go." They both walked into the great hall and seated at the head table.
Dumbledore made an announcement he said " I hope everyone is enjoying their term during the winter. There's something special going to happen all of your parents are allowed to visit the school and see what you classes you work well in and meet the staff members as well as your friends." Hermione was first to raise her hand and said "Does that mean muggles parents get to see Hogwarts?" Dumbledore said "Good question Miss Granger and to answer it yes all parents which means muggle as well if you are muggleborn or half blood. Plus the parents get to experience what it's like to be a first year student they'll be travelling by boat."  Dudley couldn't believe his ears and was super excited he looked at Harry and said "Wow Petunia and Vernon in Hogwarts oh my god my mum is not going to believe my letter." Harry said "Yeah that's going to be interesting and I had a wonderful idea."

During study break every student sent home a letter to their parents. Dudley wrote. Dear mum and dad, Hogwarts is great and I have a girlfriend. Plus the headmaster just gave us amazing news, we are allowed to bring you to Hogwarts during the winter break you'll meet all my friends and my teachers and see what it's like to be a first year student. From Dudley.
Harry wrote his letter. 
Dear Tom, you won't believe what Dumbledore said, every parent allowed to come to Hogwarts so I was wondering if you could come and be in disguise say your names Ralph Ryder. From Harry.
Hermione wrote a letter to her parents saying about the exiting news.
