In her hands
She held diamonds.
Round and perfectly cut,
They shimmered in the sunlight that shone overhead.
She saw the reflection of the seas,
She saw the many colors of the trees,
She saw animals, butterflies and bees,
She saw a forest, with a fire spreading,
A trashed room with messed-up bedding,
A circle of bunt grass,
With dandelions that'd caught aflame.
In her hands,
She now held sand,
Sifting through her fingers,
She let it fall.
