Y/N: Who are you?

???: That does not matter. What matters is why you are crying.

Y/N: I don't talk to strangers.

???: I'm just asking...

The unknown man left Y/N with a strange feeling of guilt lingering inside of her.

Y/N P.O.V

I feel bad. I don't actually know why, though. Maybe because I was rude to that man. He was, after all, just trying to help...

I look down at the now broken charm in my right hand.

Y/N: What do you think I should do, Mom?

??? P.O.V

Damn it! I left my phone at the beach where the girl was. I sighed and started to head back to the beach. As I was crossing the street, I saw a familiar girl. It seems as though she's looking for someone. It doesn't concern me, so I just started walking again.

When I reached the beach, the girl was still there. I saw my phone near where she was, so I started to walk, trying not to make a sound. When I reached my phone, I was about to leave but the girl said something.

"What do you think I should do, Mom?"

She was looking at her hand where a charm that seemed broken.

I was walking backwards to my car, but I stepped on a twig that snapped. She turned around and stared at me.

???: Um... hi?

She just continues to stare at me with a blank face.

???: Hello?

She suddenly started crying.

???: Whoa! Why are crying?!

I was panicking at this point. I never was very good with dealing with sad people but when said person is crying it makes it x10 harder for me.

"I'm sorry..."

???: Why are you sorry?

"I was rude to you last time. You were just trying to help..."

???: Oh. I wasn't mad or anything. I realized that it was weird to ask someone why they were crying if I didn't know them.

She looked surprised that I said that. But then she started to giggle.

I was pretty sure that I had a clueless expression on my face.

???: Why are you laughing?

"I-It's just t-that you thought that I was weirded out, but I felt bad for snapping at you!"

When I realized why she was laughing, I also started to laugh along with her.

When the laughter died down, she told me to take a seat beside her. I sat down and looked at her. She was crying from laughing to hard. When I looked closer, she was really beautiful. She had H/L H/C hair, super shiny. A/N: Lol wtf. She had fair skin that was flawless, even better was that she had beautiful eyes that were E/C.

I was so busy staring at her that I didn't realize that she was staring right back at me. She waved her hand in front of my face.

"Hello?"

I came to my senses.

???: S-sorry...

She giggled cutely that I found myself smiling at her.

"Were you staring at my beautiful-ness?"

???: That's not even a word!

"It is now!"

She started saying all kinds of weird things.

"By the way, my name is Y/N."

Beautiful name for a beautiful girl....

"I'm beautiful, huh? Thank you very much sir!"

I became a flustered.

???: Did I say that out loud?!?

She giggled.

"Indeed you did sir"

???: Sorry...

"Eh? Why are you sorry? I'm flattered that someone called me beautiful! Because it's true!"

She had a narcissistic look plastered on her face.

???: I'm saying sorry to everyone who is your friend.

"Why?"

???: Because now they have to listen to you babbling about your beauty.

"Yah! How dare you!"

She slapped my arm playfully.

I let her calm down for a few seconds before she said something.

"Thanks..."

???: Why?

"You cheered me up!"

She turned to me and smiled warmly.

"I guess I can tell you why I was sad now."

I was surprised that she was willing to tell me. She doesn't even know my name!

Y/N P.O.V

"So... I never met my dad. My mom and I were very close when I was young, around 5 or 6. She would play with me when she had any spare time from her work. She was a police officer.

One time we were watching a movie, when she got a call from her work. She was on the phone while I continued to watch the movie. She immediately started in that she got a urgent call saying there was a robbery at the bank and that the robbers were armed. I understood that she has work so I let her go. Before she left, she gave me a charm that was matching with the one on her necklace. She ran outside and left in her car.

I watched movies while waiting for her to come back that night, but she never did. I fell asleep on the couch then woke up the next morning by the sound of the phone ringing. I answered it. On the phone, it was her boss. He asked me if I was family to her. I answered him saying that I was her daughter. He told me that she got shot by one of the armed robbers and that she was in critical condition. He told me he could pick me up. I told my address and got changed.

A few minutes later he arrived in my driveway. We went to the hospital that my mom was admitted into. I ran to her room number. The doctor left the room after saying that she was in a coma. I cried a lot.

The next few months, I visited her with my grandparents. When we got to the room one day, she wasn't in the room. The doctor came into the room with a sad face then told us that she passed away after we left last night.

I started bawling very hard. I didn't know what to think. I never met my dad and my mom just died."

I was crying super hard now.

Y/N: And this was the charm she gave to me.
