It sounded like metal and Emily had an idea what I could've been ... the shovel. She really wanted to slap herself for her stupidity because she left the garage open so it wasn't a surprise that Cole could take it from there.

Cole left a hole in the door when he hit it. Emily stumbled back in surprise and let out a small scream. He peeked through the hole and looked at Emily with an evil smile on his lips
,,I'm coming Emily. Just stand still like a good girl and wait for me to get you, babe"
,,As if, you bastard !"
,,What did you just call me ? I think you have to learn some manners !" He said angrily.
He tried to unlock the door by sticking his arm through the hole and opening it from the inside but Emily reacted quickly. She bit his hand and Cole screamed loudly. He immediately removed his arm and cursed at her. While he was busy looking at his bleeding wound, she blocked the door with furniture. Even if Cole managed to unlock the door, he wouldn't be strong enough to push everything away. He cursed again and Emily closed her eyes and breathed in and out. She tried to calm down but when she opened her eyes again, Cole was gone. Emily didn't hear anything anymore and looked through the hole carefully but he really disappeared. For a short second, she hoped that he would've given up but Cole isn't that easy. She saw the shovel on the ground and Emily became suspicious because she was pretty sure that Cole tried to find another
way in.
,,Oh no ... fuck !" was the only thing she managed to get out of her. Her eyes snapped open when she realized where Cole most likely was.
,,THE WINDOWS IN THE LIVING ROOM !!!"
She thought and she ran as fast as she could to close the windows. She stormed in and almost fell when she tried to stop running. Cole was climbing in and this time, Emily wasn't fast enough to prevent that. He slowly walked in her direction while she always took a step back.
,,It's worthless to run. I've always been faster than you. Why don't you just give up and come to me voluntarily ?" He said and grinned.
,,Dream on. Even if you're faster than me, I'll still try to run away from you. By the way, I've always been smarter than you and that's my advantage, idiot"
Emily grinned back. Cole clenched his fist and his head became red in anger. She turned around and ran for her life. He ran right after her and screamed and cursed her. Emily sprinted through the hallway and looked back and saw how Cole reached out to grab her hair but she turned left and ran through a shorter hallway. Cole didn't see that coming and had no chance to slow down before he crashed against the wall. He closed his eyes in pain and held his nose with his hand but recovered quickly and was ready to chase her again ... but Emily was gone and Cole was dumbfounded. This hallway was a blind alley so there was no chance that she could've run further.
,,Where did she go ?" he thought and walked to the end of the hallway and looked around. He was completely confused and had no idea that Emily actually escaped through the walls. She knew about these secret interspaces because of Brahms but unlike him, she didn't know where they'd lead her to. Well, this was Brahms' house after all and he lived between the walls for almost his whole life so it's not a surprise that he knew every damn way. Emily couldn't see much because it was mostly dark but sometimes there were little holes and cracks in the walls so light could brighten up the ways. She really hoped to find Brahms somewhere.
,,Brahms, are you there ? I know you are angry at me but please answer me. Cole ... my ex is here to get me. I don't know what to do. He's unpredictable and insane." She pleaded quietly. The only thing she could think about now was Brahms.
,,Where is he ? What if Cole finds him ? Cole will hurt him !!!" she thought in panic.
Emily walked around until she found an exit. She opened the wall carefully and waited a moment before she stepped out ... Emily was in Brahms bedroom ...
