Chapter two

3 years later
I wake up to banging and slowly sit up, I look into the hallway and see Abel walking down the hall, banging on the doors.
He stops at my door and smirks " come on sweet cheeks. It's time for another bid" he grumbles and opens the cell door.
I slowly stand up and walk over to him, he smirks again and looks over me " damn baby you keep getting better every day" he laughs and grabs my ass.

As I walk down the hall I look through the cells in hopes of seeing her back, it had been 4 weeks since I last saw Sterling.
Usually when we were bid on, we were only gone 2 weeks max.

He sits me down on the chair and Danny walks over to me and starts fixing my makeup and hair.
In a few minutes she finishes and walks off, the camera is set up and I sigh looking into the camera lens.

The flash goes off and he stands up " perfect. Let's see what we get today" he says deeply and I sigh sniffing lightly.

As he types on the computer I sit silently, hoping it wouldn't be too bad today.

After a few minutes he closes his computer and walks over to me " this is a good one, come on. We gotta get you ready" he says and walks me over to my cell again.

1 day later
I sit in the back of the car, watching the road pass by.
I hear someone talking and listen in.
What the fuck do you mean they got her?

Fuck. Start moving everything now, I'll be back in an hour.

Yeah I know this was a good one but we can't get caught
As he hangs up I run it through my mind nervously, what was happening?

Time passes and soon I recognize that we are almost back.
In the background I hear police sirens, Dozens of them.
I hear Abel yell and he speeds up the car, I look out the back window, the chains making a clanging sound as I move around.

The car is jolted forward and then tilts to the side, my heart speeds up as the car drops onto its side, glass shattering from the impact, puncturing my skin.

I hear Abel groaning and try to get up, then yelling and footsteps.
I feel someone grab me and pull me out from the car, placing me on a stretcher.
As they put me in the ambulance someone sits next to me with a notepad " Sweetheart can you hear me?" They ask and I nod " okay, I need to ask you some questions okay?" They say again and I nod.
" what's your name?"
It hits me.
I was going home.
" Valentina King" I answer as happiness starts to fill my body " where's my friend? Where's sterling?" I ask quickly and she looks at me confused " what do you mean?" She asks and I sigh " you guys got everyone at the base right? Well did you find sterling? She's been gone for a while, longer than usual" I ask and she looks through her notebook and nods " yeah yeah, we got a sterling. She's safe, she's at the hospital right now being treated" she replies and I relax " she's okay" I repeat to myself and she nods " alright, last question for now, where did you live?" She asks and I sigh " Irvine California" I answer and she nods " alright, I'm going to contact your family and let you rest" she says and I nod " wait, can I have a room with sterling?" I ask and she nods " I'll try my best" she replies and I nod.

Devyn's POV

As I sit in my room trying to do my homework I hear my mom yelling, I quickly jump up and run downstairs, hearing Zeus come after me.
We run into the kitchen and see my mom and dad both standing by the phone with unreadable expressions on their faces " what happened mom?" I ask confused and she looks over to me, tears in her eyes " they found her, they found Valentina" she answers and I take a step backwards, in complete and utter shock " where is she? Is she okay? We have to go" I exclaim and she nods grabbing her car keys " she's okay, she's in the hospital" she replies and I nod grabbing Zeus's hand as we run out of the house.

Valentina's POV
As I lay with Sterling in her bed I sigh " we made it sterling. I can't believe we are gonna see our families again..I can't wait to see Deva. I miss her so much, I miss everyone" I whisper and she smiles " I know, I've dreamt of it for so long I can't believe it's actually happening. We're going home" she replies and we hug each other tightly.

I see Sterlings family and stand up " I'll wait outside ling" I whisper and she nods smiling widely.
I walk out as they all run towards her, I sit down on a chair outside of the room and play with my hands.

Hearing a familiar voice I look up and see them, my mom, dad, Zeus, and devyn.
I quickly stand up " Dev!" I yell and she looks over to me and I smile widely and sprint over to them, she runs in my direction and we meet, hugging each other with force, falling onto the ground as tears fall from my eyes.

We stand up and I pull back, looking over to Zeus, I smile widely and quickly make my way to him, hugging him tightly, he hugs me ten times tighter, and I don't even try to get away even through the pain.

" god I missed you kid" he whispers and I sniff " I missed you too z" I reply softly and he slowly backs up as I turn to my parents.
They both pull me into them hugging me tightly as I hear them cry, god I had missed them.

I turn to Dev and she sees my face and smiles " she's okay" she replies and I relax slightly " can we?" I ask my parents and they nod " yeah come on" my dad says and I nod but stop " I need to do something" I reply and turn around running to Sterlings room.
She sees me and smiles, I hug her tightly " I'm going home. I'll call you later okay Ling?" I whisper and she nods hugging me tightly " yeah, I love you Valen" she replies and I smile " I love you too Ling" I reply and pull back waving to her family as I run out.

Sitting in the car I lean on Dev and hold Zeus's hand tightly. I missed them way more than I realized.
It had been too long. They both look so different. I'm sure I did too.
Dev had somehow gotten even prettier, Z looks so much older, I keep forgetting he's 18 now. I had missed 3 years of everyone's lives. I missed 3 years of my life.

As soon as we park at the barn I jump out and run inside, knowing she was in turnout by now.
As soon as I see the paddock I slip under the fence and look through the horses in the field.
I see her grazing and smile widely " Deva" I exclaim and her ears move forward and she turns her head lifting it up.
As soon as our eyes meet she whinnies and almost wakes up, galloping my direction.
I run towards her and as I get closer I slow down and she does as well, stopping right in front of me as I wrap my arms around her tightly, she nuzzles me and hugs me back just as tight.
I back up letting go of her and sit down, she sees me sitting and carefully lays down next to me, placing her head on my lap as I lay down and listen to her heartbeat as tears fall down my face as I ugly cry.
" I missed you so much baby, I'm never leaving you again Deva" I whisper and she lets out a breath and snorts.

Some time later-

It had been a while and I knew my parents wanted to go home, truthfully I did too.
Slowly standing up she does the same and I hug her again " I love you Dev, I'll see you tomorrow I promise" I whisper and she whinnies as I turn around and head to the gate.
