chapter 5 Date nights are full of surprises

Chloe Michaels

Does saturdays always go by this fast? Maybe it was because i was so nervous but time really did seem to fly and I thought it only did that when you were having fun. I couldn't stop pacing back and fourth on the wooden floors of the living room. My parents were out visiting some friends so I was the only one home and for that i was quite grateful. I needed serious time to think. At times like this I would normally call my best friend Izzy but lately she had been acting strange. It was like she really didn't want me to go out with Alistair Crane but why? Theres no way she could know him, today was his first day, unless she has classes with him. hmmmm maybe she has a crush on him? No Izzy has a boyfriend she's crazy in love with. This was really eating me up. I looked at the clock on the wall and it said 5 o'clock. Oh no! I only have one hour to get dressed before its go time. I rushed to my closet as fast as my legs would take me.

Isabella

The decision was finally made. The elders had decided that telling Chloe was the best plan of action. If Alistair had not asked chloe on a date they definitely would have left chloe in the dark a lot longer. I of course was voted to speak to her but heres the real kicker I couldn't tell her everything. I was only allowed to tell her things on a need to know bases and only the elders get to decide based on my reports what she needs to know.

I'm happy i can finally tell Chloe the truth or atleast some of it but I was beyond terrified on how she would respond to this news. I thought about all this while I was heading toward my families weapon cache. The weapons room had wall to wall weapons ranging from guns to throwing stars. In the left corner of the room set a red punching bag worn out from years of use. Most of the center of the room had mats down that were used for training and sparring. This room makes me miss my brothers Seth,Carbon and Cameron every time I enter it . My brothers are in the Southern region training for the up coming war between the vampires and us... the wolves.

My plan tonight was to get to chloe's house before she leaves to go on her faux date. I grabbed a few extra weapons more than I normally wear because depending on how this turns out there could be a fight that I of course will not be starting. If i get warned one more time about how important it is to not throw the first blow I will scream bloody murder at the top of my freaking lungs! I won't be alone tonight though.Trevor has volunteed to shadow Chloe just in case the vampire knight tries anything. As much as I really hate to admit it, I'am really glad Trevor will be there incase I need him.

Chloe

I was standing in the bathroom mirror putting the last finishing touches on my make up when I heard a knock at the door. I thought my heart would be pounding and that I'd be all nervous like I usually am with Trevor. Sigh- I open the door and to my surprise its not Alistair but Izzy instead. " Iz?" I said while lifting one eyebrow. " Yea its me, not quite what you were expecting huh?" Isabella mused "not at all" things kinda seemed akward mostly because of yesterday the whole not going on a date thing. " Can we talk inside for a minute?" Isabella shyly asked. This is getting weirder by the second. Since when is Isabella shy and with me of all people? We might have had a disagreement because well thats all it was but I'm still her bff so... what gives? "Yea sure come in." I told my bff. Izzy walked towards the cream leather sofa and sat down. Not really sure what to do so I just stood there. "Chloe we have been friends for basically forever you know that right? and out of all that time you know that I would never do anything to hurt you." Isabella said while not looking at me. "umm... okay? Iz where are you going with all this?" I questioned. "Chloe you might want to sit down for this." sighed Iz. I had never seen her like this so I did as she asked and sat in the other chair. Isabella took a deep breath and said the most ridiculous things I've ever heard in my life. " Chloe I'm a wolf, well not exactly a wolf more like a werewolf. Alistair is not what you think he is either he's a vampire a very powerful one at that. I came here tonight to ask you not to go out with him. He's planning on kidnapping you." I burst out laughing and not just any laugh but the laugh so hard tears come out, hold your stomach and almost fall out the chair laugh." Iz, you really dont want me to go out with him so bad that you would make up such a ridiculously crazy story, I mean what is this really about? Do you like him or something?" I said When i finally gained some composure. " No I don't like him at all. Chloe as long as you have known me when have I ever made up anything besides when we were in elementary because that doesn't count everyone makes up stuff in elementary." Izzy said while rolling her eyes. "Okay I will admit you are pretty honest sometimes too honest but you can't expect me to buy that." I doubtfully added. Izzy stood up "Well I guess I'll just have to show you then." before I could say anything Isabella stood in front of me and what she did from there defyed every science book imaginable. Her face started to enlongate until it became a snout. Her bones cracked and popped until all that was left of Izzy was an enormous white wolf with hazel green human eyes.
