"Oh," Cathy said, surprised to see Jeremy opening the door instead of Michael. He moved out of her and the heavy groceries she was carrying way before she dropped it. She rushed to the kitchen and put the stuff down before all hell broke loose."HI JEREMY," yelled Alice, Michaels other mother. Did she not realize he was right there? "COULD YO- oh sorry, honey, I thought you were upstairs," she said, almost body-slamming into the scrawny teen. "Could you get Michael? I need some help with the groceries," she said, heading back to the car to grab more bags.
"Actually, he got sick, I think," Jeremy replied.
"Oh." She paused, straightening from where she was about to pick a bag up. "Would you mind helping me? My shoulder's bad and I think Cathy's about to pass out. We've had a long day." She chuckled.
"Yeah, of course!" Jeremy said, already grabbing a few bags. His puny arms struggled but he managed.
Soon, once all the groceries were put away and Jeremy yet again mingled with Michaels mothers, the women went upstairs to settle in, probably for the night. Waiting five more minutes, once he could hear Cathy's loud snoring, he then went to comfort Michael, chocolate bar in hand.
Jeremy opened the door, greeted immediately by a little bit of smoke and the intense smell of weed.
