Officially Part of the Family

Dear Diary,

I told you I would let you know about what the surprise was.

“Alice, Jasper, can you come into my office please?” Carlisle called from upstairs.

Jasper looked confused when a grin appeared on my face and I jumped up from the sofa.

“Something you’d like to tell me, ma’am?” He asked me in my favourite Southern drawl, looking up into my eyes.

He looked like he was trying to find out what I was keeping from him, just by looking into my eyes. I was so absorbed in his stare; I had to shake my head to free myself.

“If I told you it wouldn’t be a surprise now, would it?” I giggled with excitement as I took Jasper’s hand and ran up the stairs.

We stood outside the door to Carlisle’s office in a second and waited until we were invited in.

“Come in.”

Jasper looked at me uneasy. He didn’t like being surprised himself. He had a hard time trusting people; I shot him a reassuring smile before I shoved him in before me.

Then I entered skipping and clapping my hands as all my family stood in front of me.

“Alice, could you at least pretend you haven’t already seen your surprise?” Edward asked, pinching the bridge of his nose. I was probably giving him a headache with all my mental excitement. Jasper moved towards me, probably drawn to me by all the happiness I was feeling.

“Sorry, but I’m too happy! Don’t ruin it for me, Brother!” I exclaimed.

Esme smiled as she gave Jasper and me a small box.

Jasper just stared at it, and I waited for him to open his first.

“Open it!” Rosalie said, nudging me.

Everyone was quiet, waiting patiently. Well, everyone except Emmett.

“C’mon guys! Hurry up and open them! I want to challenge you two to an ultimate arm wrestle!” He whined.

I looked at Jasper and kissed him gently on the cheek to encourage him, then opened my box.

Inside was necklace the exact same as Rosalie’s. It had the Cullen family crest on the pendant. This was exactly like my vision.

Jasper finally opened his, it was the same Cullen crest on a plain black cuff that Edward and Emmett have.

This was our official initiation into the Cullen family, the family that now we were going to spend the rest of our lives with. The rest of eternity.

I started to cry. The first time in my vampire life, I cried. Thankfully I can’t cry actual tears, but they still noticed. Esme and Rosalie instantly moved to hug me.

“Thank you” I said, my voice slightly muffled by blonde and caramel hair.

I saw Jasper hug my brothers and Carlisle. My dad.

I’ve often wondered where my human family are, why no one is looking for me.

I don’t need them though, I’ve got everyone I need right here.
