A glint of sunlight peaked over the mountains. Koworu yawned, stretching out his tiny body. He padded out of the cave. Snow blowed into his face, and he welcomed it. "You look like snow!" laughed his littermate, Kyla. He often had been joked around by his other siblings, Arnoux, Arldolf, Sev, Seth, and Rawson, all annoying to him. The alpha's pups are pre-trained, so they are ready for apprenticeship. Koworu was the Alpha's pup; he had to train on early mornings. BloodPack was hard to live in, the other packs had a different life, their pups didn't have to pre-train no matter what. "Pups of Alerick! It's time for your training!" called the Beta, IceClaw. Koworu sighed, limping his way to his trainer.
"Welcome, pups," Alerick smiled. Koworu dug his claws into the ground beneath him. He shook the snow of his fur, remembering what Kyla had told him. Ugh. Training. "Attack me. Remember what I taught you last time," the alpha commanded, freezing. Koworu leaped at him, keeping his back legs straight. Alerick swiftly shifted aside, allowing Koworu to tumble onto the cold, layer of snow. "Remember, speed," His father reminded him as he recovered. Father is too fast! Last time he told me to rake my claws somehow to go faster. "Now watch me," he said, gaze to his son. The beta leaped at Alerick. Koworu watched as Alerick raked his claws to the ground, pushing backwards. Then, quickly turning around. "Did you see?" Alerick asked. Koworu nodded as IceClaw smiled happily. "Now you try,"
Alerick bounded after Koworu. Koworu raked his claws to the ground, pushing forward. The massive leader plunged toward Koworu, causing his limbs to ache. Alerick chuckled. "What do you smell?" he tested. Koworu sniffed the air cautiously. Rogues! Koworu was terrified. "Rogues! Father I smell them!" Koworu cried. Alerick sniffed the air. "Your right," he muttered calmly. "Get everyone to the escape hole!" IceClaw nodded and rushed out. "Koworu. If you see a rogue, run! Fight them if you can! I have to go. Stay beside me! But first, get your brothers and sisters!" The leader ordered. Koworu sprinted away. "Everyone! Come with me! The rogues!" Koworu called to his siblings. The six pups followed Koworu to their father. Alerick was pinned down by a dark wolf. Koworu was paralyzed in horror. What was he going to do? "Run!" His father yelped as the dark warrior raked his fur. "Go to Flamepack! All of you! Close the hole when your out! You will be safe there! I will miss you. Each and everyone of you. Promise me that you will never forget me and these standing words!" Koworu ran to a deep hole in the ground. Before he went in, he looked back to his father. Alerick had managed to throw the dark rogue off of him. The rogue yowled something to his father, but Koworu couldn't hear. "Koworu!" Seth called from the steep hole. Koworu rushed inside. They were running fast to the other territory. Are the others coming? What will happen if I close the hole? Maybe they are not. Maybe they are fighting off rogues. Maybe I will never see them again. My father, my home, my mother, my pack mates. They all got to the end. He raked his claws against the snow above. The snow collapsed. And all of that was lost.
