I made sure to listen to my inner voice, because the voice of it was my father's.

I wouldn't like him to get mad for something I refuse to do.

So when I got out of the sight of Evan's gang, I quickly ran to school, worried that I might be late.

After an hour I entered the school premises, and I noticed marshalls of each class roaming around.

And it seems like they were helping the teachers to discipline the students.

I then, sneaked behind every student as I walk towards the line of my class, not wanting to get caught late again.

"Evelyn, you're bleeding!" shouted Cassindie, my best friend.

"How'd you notice so easily?" I asked, thinking that I thought I hid the blood enough for no one to see.

"Duh, blood does not camoflauge on your pale lookin' skin!" she shouted worrying for the blood covering my face.

I hid under my short straigthened hair, not wanting anyone else to notice.

"Just shut up, Cassindie!" I begged her, as she caught some of the students' attention.

"What? I just answered your question." she said, crossing her arms as her thickened eyebrows strike downwards at me.

And with a blink of an eye, my whole body started to get numb.

"Hey Evelyn? Are you alright? H-hey!" shouted Cassindie, as she tries lifting my torso.

I tried to fight the numbness, but it lead me to fall down on my knees and land my head on a concrete platform.

BAM!—and there goes my conscience go blank.

Suddenly I awoke, I awoke in a place I'm unfamiliar with.

The place I think I can escape from my wicked reality.

"Hello?" I called out, but nobody responded.

I was alone in a smoggy place, that makes me deaf with how silent it is.

Somehow, in this silenced place I feel safe.

And that's the only thing I wanted myself to be in; a place where I know I'm safe.

But I was afflicted by the sudden appearances of my stepfather and my neighbors, because as I see them, I felt pain througout my body.

As if I'm experiencing the living nightmare my body has felt, over and over again.

And I can't take it anymore, so I just had to let it all out—

"Arrhhhhggggg!" I shouted as I pulled a knife from nowhere, and slit open the throat of my...STEPFATHER?!

I—I didn't mean to kill him, but I somehow felt relieved?

However that feeling of contentment had to end, when I woke up again on a clinic bed.

"What am doing here?!" I shouted, wanting to return in that place, the place where I felt something different.

Something new.

"Evelyn, you fainted a while ago. How are you dear?" , asked my mum who was looking worried by staring at me.

"What are you doing here, mum?"

She didn't respond, but she suddenly gave me a hug.

"What is it this time?" I shrugged my shoulders, refraining my mum to continue embracing me.

"I'm sorry Evelyn, its just about your father."

"Don't you dare label that sottish old man as my father!"

But she still dared insisted, "Evelyn, no matter what you do, he is still your father. So please, respect him by understanding what he feels when you disrespect him!"

"No mum! He is the one disrespecting me, and I just defended myself!"  I paused upon collecting the courage to say, "How many damn times will you stay ignorant and foolish for this man?!"

And there I sat realizing how wrong I was to tell that, when my mum slapped me.

I knew somehow she felt broken inside, because imagine: your own daughter, calling you a fool, and calling you ignorant.

"You don't know how much time I waited for someone to love me after your father died."

Then she left the clinic room, covering her mouth as she silently cries.

So that's when I knew what I said was the truth.

She chose to become foolish and ignorant just for someone to love her again.
