Technology's advanced beyond our ability to regulate it. Corruption and chaos reign.
In a world where a global police force can't control the crime and corruption, two generations have been torn apart. The Backlash follows 29 year old Lee on a mission to escape capture by a global police force for a crime she didn't commit. So why is her identity linked to the crime?
The year is 2045. The children of Millennials are now grown ups. And identity theft is big business. Because in this world, identities are mined and stolen to make C.O.R.G.S.
What are C.O.R.G.S.? [Cryogenic Operational Replicatory Genetic Systems]
A cross between a cyborg and a clone of an existing human being.
These replicant-like robots look, talk and act EXACTLY like human beings. It's almost impossible to tell them apart; they're grown from real human DNA, then paired with the data collected on existing individuals: a DNA sample and a number of photos and videos of a person are the only necessary materials needed to create an exact CORG replica using their identity.
Advancements in facial recognition tech have extended to facial identity replication. Advancements in stem cell and biological tech have made it possible to rebuild an entire person with nothing more than a DNA sample and some basic data collection; Two factors of myriad rapid technological developments that paved the way for the creation of CORGS - human templates built for crime.
