"I'm surprised you actually went. I would think that you'd ditch it." Luke trailed off, eating grapes off a grape stem. It was lunch time at school, and ever since we've met, we had been hanging out more, and I didn't mind. I feel like I had known Luke forever, and I liked that. "Well. I don't want my mom to die so its whatever's." I speak with no intention, taking a sip of my monster energy drink. Specifically, blueberry was my favorite. "That's true. Anyway, I heard that it's time to start applying for scholarships." He finished the grape stem, wiping his hands on a napkin. "I applied for Princeton." I say with my mouth full of pizza. Luke's eyes popped out like he had just seen nudes of Megan Fox. "University girl.... Perfect." He laughs. I laugh along, considering I show off that type of girl who doesn't give a damn about school and her grades. But instead, I'm a 3.8-4.0 GPA student, and nobody notices that, which I am totally fine with.
"Can I ask you something?" He fixes his lip ring and his hair before he officially asks his question. "You don't have to ask to ask a question." I say, checking my phone for the time. "Give me a candor answer." He abruptly says. I lift my eyebrows up and nod. "How are you feeling?" He continues. I put my phone down on the cafeteria table we sat at, and rested my elbow on the table surface, lazily putting my head on my palm. "I'm okay, I guess. Don't even worry about it, Luke." He looks at me like he's still concern which he probably still is, and gets a hold of my right arm. Fresh new cuts lied on my arm, and I could see the sadness in Luke's eyes right when he made contact with it. You can't unsee or unhear things, which sucks about humans and even the world. His fingertips trailed down my arm, and before he put it back down, he leaned towards it more, and left a blissful kiss. "You're still beautiful." He says without no hesitation. I couldn't hold back. Tears streamed down my face. Ever since Luke and I met, he was there for me from the start, even when I attempted to push him away from me. He cares, and he makes me feel like the most beautiful person in the whole wide world. He's there to listen and to talk back to me, just like how a person that I wished to have. He was everything I have ever wanted, even if I always dodged going into that zone. It's ironic how you could fall in love with someone ironically fast, just because they do things that make you happy. This only happens in fantasies, but Luke sets hope for me. I stood up, and for the first time, hugged him the tightest I could, as he did too. I silently cried into his arms, feeling the most grateful person alive. "Thank you. So much." I whisper into his ear. He hugs me tighter, and whispers "Riley, I think I love you." He grabs my hand, and clutches his fingers against mine. He was resilient. Even when he had seen me at my worst. Do I deserve him anyway? On the other hand, I needed someone like him.
"How'd you get me to fall for you so fast? For me, its nearly impossible to fall that fast." I question in surprisement. He leaned towards me, and spoke,
"I don't give up on things I want."
