"Please don't go, I... I love you."

Chloe stared out at the empty balcony. "Lucifer," She sighed out. He was gone. Tears that clung to her face slowly dried as a soft wind blew, reminding the detective of the wind from Lucifer's flight away from her.

She felt like she should be crying or gritting her teeth in anger. Instead, Chloe just stood on the Penthouse's balcony, staring out at the city. For the most part, her mind was blank except for the occasional flash of her recent conversation. Her fingers drifted up to her lips, without her brain telling them to, and remembered how he had kissed her just before he had left.

It didn't feel real.

Chloe had no memory of leaving the balcony, walking to the elevator, or driving home but she found herself unlocking her front door and gently pushing it open. Closing it, she leaned her back against the wood and looked up at the ceiling, her head lightly resting against the door behind her.

"Mommy!" a young voice called, making the detective jump. She had assumed that the house was empty, that Trixie was at Dan's house. Chloe looked down from the ceiling above her to see her daughter trotting towards her. Despite everything that had happened that night, Chloe smiled and embraced Trixie.

"Hi sweetie," she said, stroking the young girl's dark hair. Chloe pulled away to look her daughter in the eyes. "Why are you here and not with your dad?"

"Daddy brought me here and we we've been playing Monopoly while we've been waiting for you," Trixie answered, casually.

Monopoly. Chloe thought. She had such good memories of that game with him and Trixie.

"Yeah, sorry Chloe," Dan said, coming around the corner, holding the dice to the game. "I know we agreed that I would take Trixie tonight but, you know, things came up at work."

Chloe nodded. "It's fine," she murmured, looking down at her daughter. Looking back up at her ex, she said, "So do you have to go now?"

Dan looked down at the time on his phone. "Um, yeah, probably." He moved to the door. "Thank you Chlo, I promise I'll take her tomorrow."

"Okay," She said as Dan left. "So, Monkey," Chloe said "How was your day?"

"Pretty good," Trixie said. "Daddy and I went out to dessert and got chocolate cake!"

"Wow, Monkey," Chloe smiles "And it was only 'pretty good'?" She asks, making her daughter giggle.

"Okay, maybe it was better than that," Trixie says, grinning. "How was your day, Mommy?" The sweet girl asks.

Chloe isn't sure how to answer that. "Well, sweetie, it was... busy," she started. "There was a lot of work that I didn't really know how to do but ," Chloe nods as she talks, reassuring herself of what she is saying, "But there were some really great people who helped me out."

Well, people isn't exactly the right word. Chloe thought.

"Like Lucifer?" Trixie asked, beaming. She loved Lucifer so much and it made Chloe happy to see that.

"Yeah," Chloe said quietly. "Like Lucifer," Chloe mentally shook herself and briefly glanced at the clock. It was 10:43 pm. She gasped slightly. "Oh Monkey it is way past your bedtime! Go get ready okay?"

Trixie, clearly disappointed that she couldn't stay up later, ran to her room to begin getting ready.

Her mother went to her own room and sat on the bed, rubbing her temple. It had been one of the biggest days in Chloe Decker's life, physically and emotionally draining. Instinctively, Chloe pulled out her phone and checked her text messages.

No new messages.

Her most recent text was from Maze, telling her that Charlie was safe with his parents. A few work related messages came after that: a few things from her Sargent, Ella, and Dan.

Then, a text from Lucifer.

L: Hey! Lux is booming tonight you should come down! :)

C: Lucifer, I have work tomorrow. I can't stay up late or potentially get drunk.

L: I work with you so it'll be fine. We'll be tired and hungover together.

C: I'm sorry Lucifer.

That was it. The last text exchange they might every have. Her thumbs hovered over the keys, considering typing something to him but decided against it, turned off her phone, and plugged it in to charge for the night.

Besides, Hell probably doesn't have service anyway.

I hope you guys enjoyed! Please let me know your thoughts. I'll try to update lots but I have tons of homework and I'm also working on applying to colleges so I'm sorry if they are irregular and far apart. <3
