Chapter 16

Lisa's POV

I feel so bad that Lauren had to tell Mike and Alex, that I couldn't manage to say it.

"I love you Lolo," I tell her and she hugs me tighter.

"I love you too Lise," she says and sniffles. Dani and Amy walk down the stairs and Lauren and I look up at them.

"Morning," we each say to each other. Lauren gets up and goes to the kitchen with Dani. I look at Amy.

"How did you sleep?" I ask.

"Not the greatest," she tells me, "How about you?"

"Barely slept at all," I admit. Her and I exchange a quick hug.

"Wait... where's Kath? She's usually up before all of us!" I ask Amy.

"She was facing the wall when I got up so I'm not sure if she's awake or asleep. Though I heard her crying in the middle of the night," Amy says with a sad look in her eyes.

"You go eat breakfast with Lauren and Dani, I'll go check on her, okay?" I tell Ames.

"Okay," she whispers and walks to the kitchen. I head upstairs and swing open the door to the other girls' bedroom.

Katherine is in the same position Amy described, facing the wall and curled up as well. I'm guessing she's awake.

I sit on her bed and rub her back. She quickly turns her head to look at me.

"Lisa..." she whispers.

"It's going to be okay," I tell her in a strong voice. I'm not entirely sure if it was meant to reassure her or myself.

"Chris and I kept trying to get Bella to talk to us but she wouldn't, it's all my fault. I should've pushed harder," Kath tells me. I instantly can tell how guilty she feels even though she shouldn't.

"Kath, this isn't your fault at all. You know as well as I do that Bella doesn't like sharing her feelings. If you had pushed her much harder to share them, she would've left. You did everything right. She just made a wrong choice," I say honestly. Kath looks a little better. I pull her into a hug, I have a faint smile on my lips. I'm glad Kath is okay.

Just then I hear Kath's phone buzz and mine as well. We both check them and have a text from Christina.

Christina: You guys coming today?

Me: Of course. What time?

Christina: Any time works. Bella's doing a lot better.

Kath: Good, I'm glad. And okay see you later!

Christina: Btw how did you guys sleep?

Kath: ....

Me: ....

Christina: :( I'm sorry I'm not there. But you need to sleep!!

Me: Later we will. I promise.

Christina: Okay, see you later.

"I guess we should go tell the younger ones to get ready after they're done breakfast," I say. Kath nods and we walk down together.

Dani and Amy are playfully arguing about something but Lauren looks over at Kath and I.

"Help," she mouths, "I'm stuck with crazy people." I start to giggle and so does Katherine. Amy and Dani turn to look at us weirdly. Laur has a smile on her face.

"So... are we going to see Bella today?" Dani asks carefully.

"Yeah that's what we were coming to tell you guys. Christina texted us and we can go anytime today. As soon as you're done here, go get ready to go," Katherine instructs. They nod. Amy and Lauren follow her upstairs while Dani sticks behind.

I look at her sad face and it's tough not to cry.

"Is it bad that I feel like Bella abandoned me?" Dani asks quietly. I'm stunned by her words yet they make complete sense to me.

"No, not at all. I think we all kinda feel like that Dani. But don't ever blame yourself, got it?" I tell her.

"Got it."

Walking up the stairs I ponder Dani's words. Was Bella actually trying to abandon us? Maybe she wants out of this family... oh gosh, that can't happen! She's our sister. We'll always love her even when she doesn't love herself.
