"Morning, Hodaka!"
Hina pounces onto Hodaka as light slowly entered his eyes. The rain patters on the windows as usual. He decided to move in with Hina, since he could not afford rental just yet. It is a brand new day, the first day of their relationship.
"Morning, Hina," Hodaka replies drowsily. While he could not wait to start his new day, his physical fatigue was slowing him down. He proceeds to the bathroom, completing his morning routine. Feeling refreshed, he sits down at the dining table. Hina had already prepared a simple breakfast: rice drizzled with seasoning and a side dish of mackerel.
"Itadakimasu!"
As Hodaka gobbles down his food, he notices Hina isn't eating much, unlike the usual, energetic Hina he knows and loves. She is instead stealing peeks at Hodaka.
Yesterday seemed unbelievable. Hodaka feels like he is living in a dream, a dream that he doesn't want to end. It seems surreal to him that he finally got a girlfriend, let alone being able to move in with her. Hodaka can't stop himself from glancing at Hina either.
"You two are acting weird... did something happen yesterday?" Nagi had a smug grin on his face.
"Well... I have been meaning to tell you this little bro, but Hodaka and I sort of entered a relationship..." Hina replies, twirling her hair in her fingers.
"Hahaha, I guess you could say that...." Hodaka adds with a shaky voice.
"Sugoi, Onee-chan! Congrats to both of you!" Nagi cries out.
Hodaka and Hina are both blushing. They try to hide their embarrassment while they quickly finish their breakfast.
"Well, I gotta get going. I'm meeting my friends for a movie," Nagi's voice echoes down the corridor as he exits the house.
"Bye sis! Take care of my sis, Hodaka!" The door clangs shut.
A brief awkward moment passes as the newly formed couple ate their breakfast.
"You don't have any plans for today, right? Wanna go to Shibuya then, Hodaka?" Hina abruptly asked.
"Su..sure," replies Hodaka, taken aback by the sudden proactiveness to ask him out. Is it just him, or did Hina become even more mature in the past few years? Well, he did lose contact with her for quite some time, so it's not surprising for her to change, especially after what happened since that summer, three years ago. Hodaka feels a wave of embarrassment as he thought about what he said. 'I want you more than any blue sky!" His face involuntarily turned red. But at least I didn't lie to myself, and I still want her more than any blue sky, Hodaka reasons to himself. He raises his head and stares at Hina. Hodaka is unable to take his eyes off her as she walks into her room.
"Hodaka! What are you waiting for? Get dressed!" Hina shouts from her room. Hodaka snaps back to reality and shrugged to his room. He donned a plain blue t-shirt from Uniqlo. While he was pulling up his brown khaki shorts, a sudden realisation struck him. Does this mean that I am going on my first date with Hina?! Hodaka thought to himself. Barely able to contain his amalgamation of excitement and nerves, he started to bite down on his fingernails, his mind racing through what he should do and say on their first date and-
"Hodakaaa~ are you ready?" Hina's head pops into the room.
"Ye... yeah!" Hodaka stutters.
"Phish!" The umbrella opens in Hodaka's hand as Hina clinged onto Hodaka's arm. Even though Hodaka loves it, he could barely stop himself from being more than a touch anxious⁸.
"Shall we proceed then?" Hodaka asks.
"Mm!"
