It's Okay To Cry

Two days later, sunlight peeked through the window of Ash Ketchum's bedroom, illuminating his face as it landed on his eyelids. On the floor beside him, Clemont lay asleep, a small invention in his left hand and a screwdriver in his right. At the foot of Ash's bed lay Pikachu, who was still sleeping quietly.

Ash could hear the sound of pots and pans clanking downstairs, his mother he assumed. He sat up slowly, a yawn rising to his lips as he stretched his arms. Careful not to step on Clemont, the raven haired trainer stepped out of the room and shut the door quietly behind himself. Ash made his way down the stairs, eyes still tired as he rounded the newel at the bottom of the stairs, coming face to face with Bonnie.

"Morning Ash!" the young girl grinned up at him, her Dedenne on her head as she glanced upstairs.

"Morning Bonnie, morning Dedenne..." Ash let out another yawn as he moved aside, letting Bonnie bound up the stairs, and a moment later he heard the all to familiar sound of someone being electrocuted.

"Bonnie!" Clemonts voice sounded throughout the house as Bonnie ran down the stairs and into the kitchen.

Ash chuckled to himself, feeling sympathetic for Clemont, as he had woken up to electrification many a time.

"Good morning Ash!" another voice said from behind Ash, and the teenager turned away from the stairs once more, met with Serena.

Ash grinned at the smiling girl, "Morning!"

"It's so nice of your mom to let us stay here while we wait for the cruise to arrive." Serena flopped down onto the couch, Ash falling into place beside her.

"Yeah," Ash grinned, they had flown in the previous night and Ash's mom, Delia Ketchum, had enthusiastically agreed to her son going on the cruise, as long as he called her often, "And it's pretty awesome that the cruise starts here."

"I wonder if it was all part of Palermo's plan or something..." Serena humored the thought for a moment, but was torn from her thoughts as Delia called out to the house,

"Breakfast's ready!"

Pikachu came bounding down the stairs at that, searching for a ketchup packet.

Delia Ketchum was, Serena thought, a very warm person. She seemed to care for all of her sons friends as though they were her own children. She was also an amazing cook, as Bonnie made sure to point out.

"Why thank you Bonnie~" Delia smiled as she plated her own food, having given everyone else theirs, "I've had quite some time to get better, you should've seen me when I was young~"

A round of giggles and laughs sounded around the table, but it was interrupted by a loud knocking on the door. Delia stood up and rounded the corner out of the kitchen, everyone listened as Delia spoke with someone quietly, and then two sets of footsteps came back.

Delia came around the corner with Professor Samuel Oak. Samuel Oak was an older man with grey hair and a very sharp, rectangular face.

"Ash!" the professor smiled as Delia pulled out a chair for the man, "How was Kalos?"

"It was awesome!" Ash grinned, he gestured to the others, "and they came back with me!"

"My name's Bonnie!" the young, lemon blonde haired girl waved at the professor, "And this is Dedenne!" the man waved back with a smile,

"That's a very adorable pokemon! And I can tell you're good friends!"

"That's right!" Bonnie grinned wider.

Clemont bowed his head slightly, "And my name is Clemont, it's truly a pleasure to meet you."

Professor Oak smiled, "No need to be so formal."
