She stood there, right in front of Apryl, in what looked like their house. The house was the same but it had some minor changes. The sofa was moved, there were different paintings on the walls, there was even new carpeting. She also changed. She was cleaned up, she actually looked sober. She looked happy.
"Sorry, guess I keep forgetting." she says happily
"It's alright." the voice says. The voice was familiar but she couldn't figure out who's voice it is. Whoever it is, they sound happy talking to her. Who would be happy talking to the worst mother of the century?
"Oh no! I need to get going! It's 10:00, they're probably waiting for me! I love you, I'll see you in the morning!" She says, once again not being able to stop herself from saying it. All of a sudden she starts walking towards the door. Although she wasn't in control of her own legs. Everything starts fading to black as the door opens.
"Ok, I love you too. Have fun tonight!" her mother yelled after her.
Apryl couldn't see anything now, everything was black. Her eyes were closed. When she opened them, she was back in Aspen's room. She started gasping for air, as if this whole time she had been holding her breath. The heaviness of her breathing got Aspen's attention.
"Are you ok!?" Aspen says urgently.
"What just happened?" She replies back scared out of her mind.
"What are you talking about? Did you have a bad dream or something?"
"I have no idea. Maybe? How long was I out?"
"Like 10 minutes, we were just talking and you passed out." He says calmly. "I figured you were tired, so I left you alone and tried to go to sleep myself."
Apryl sat there for a moment, trying to figure out what the hell was going on.
'Maybe it was a nightmare,' she thought to herself 'But it felt so realistic.' It was way more realistic than any dream she's ever had before. Instead of overthinking it she just brushed it off.
"I think it was just a weird dream. Sorry for waking you up, good night Aspen." She says
"It's fine. I'm just glad you're ok, good night Apryl." he says with a smile. They then both doze off to sleep. The light pokes through the curtains early in the morning waking up the group of heavily hungover teens. As Apryl wakes up she smells bacon and walks down stairs to see Aspen making breakfast. He was making everyone eggs, bacon, toast, and coffee.
"You didn't have to make up breakfast, ya know." Enya says as she walks into the kitchen.
"He's my chef, he always makes me breakfast in the morning. Even when I tell him not to. So good luck getting him not to." Apryl laughs. She practically lived with Aspen because she hated to go home. Her mom was always drunk and her dad was either out of town for work or sitting on the couch with a case of Pepsi watching the game. It didn't matter what game it was, he was watching it.
"It's just my token of appreciation to my best friends." Aspen says with a smile. Aspen lived alone. His mom died at a young age, and his dad wanted to give him space. Aspen took it as his dad distancing himself from him, as if it were his fault. So they got in an argument and his dad ended up being an alcoholic. So he wanted to move out at 17. His dad let him, so he did. He does good by himself, though. Apryl's always here to keep him company, he makes good money, and he's an excellent chef.
"You're too sweet." Enya giggles. "So when do we get to eat?"
"As soon as Jasper wakes up." Aspen chuckles. Enya stomps into the living room. Apryl and Aspen both knew where this was going, so they followed her into the living room. As they walk in behind her, she jumps on Jasper to wake him up.
"WAKE UP YOU SLEEPY BEACH!" She screams as she keeps jumping on him "I WANT TO EAT I'M HUNGRY!"
"I knew she'd wake him up if I told her that." Aspen laughs, almost on the verge of tears. Apryl tries to say something but she was laughing too hard at Enya.
As she's laughing things start to blacken out so she sits down fast.
"Apryl! Is everything ok?" Aspen says urgently.
"Can you get me some water?" she says quietly. Enya is still sitting on Jaspers chest, both in shock and trying to find out what's going on. As Aspen comes back with a bottle of water, Apryl passes out once again. She woke up in a room with beautiful blue walls, and green curtains with pink cherry blossoms on them. The room looks familiar to her. This is was sure it wasn't a dream, but she still didn't understand what was happening. This time, though, she could actually move her body. She got out of the comfy, pink bed she was laying in and started exploring the unknown house. In the corner of the room was a mirror. As she looked in the mirror she was startled at was she was looking at, and it definitely wasn't her...
