"Please excuse my wife"

Cars, people walking, the hot weather. Yup. This is my everyday life. Going to work with the same ol' routine. The name by the way is Scarlet. I work in an office in another country. I have a broken family but it's fine since it was so long ago. I'm on my 20s now. So why do I feel so bored with life? Same routine everyday, same people I see, same environment. Yet here I am, just sitting in my room, wondering what life has got to offer.

Every evening, I go online on facebook. Scrolling on my newsfeed, checking up on highschool friends back in the Philippines. Some in different countries too. I wasn't the popular one or I had made unforgetable memories like many highschool kids out there.

Facebook had nothing in store for me now. Yes. This is how boring my life is. Simple and boring isn't it?

So I decided to take a stroll under the night sky to go and get some coffee. Ordered the usual: cappucino. Took a fashion magazine at the book stand, probably I could start improving my sense of fashion since I dress less and mannequins in Forever 21 looks more fashionable than me. After all, Malaysia is a shopping district heaven for clothes.

After jotting down the 'useful' fashion tips, I stood up, return the magazine and bumped someone.

I bumped to a lady who yelled at me for spilling her coffee. I was to blame for moving too quickly and not looking at my surroundings. Then a man held my shoulders and told the lady, "please excuse my wife. She just came out from the hospital and she's feeling a bit dizzy". Amazed how a guy manipulated the lady because her crunched up eyebrows suddenly became as calm as swan lake.

I face the man and look down since I'm not very fond of eye contacts. I apologized and said my thanks, raised my head a little and saw a smile with a really deep dimple. His smile was genuine and full of kindness. I raise my head a little higher and made an eye contact with him. Such calm eyes.

"Be careful next time, miss"

That time was probably the most exciting feeling I ever felt in my daily life. It's a good thing to feel this excited for now but tomorrow for sure, will just be another normal day.

...

But....

...

I can't sleep. He was in my mind.
