Break-

She wants to break.

Everything about her wants to break.

Theresa's bones shriek when she moves, her skin making a noise like ripping paper.

Her eyes threaten to spill over with tears as she blinks.

Her bitten-up bottom lip quivers.

Theresa Lynn Oakes has a body that wants to break-

And she's thinking she'll let it.

Bitter-

"Yeah," Theresa breathes, her shaking fingers punching in the 'confirm' of the friendship termination, "Maybe I'm a bit too bitter."

Love-

Love is an emotion Theresa can't really describe.

It's made her so happy, made her feel strong. It's made her so happy, she'd cried.

It's also ripped her to shreds from the inside out. It's made her so sad, she's cried.

Theresa doesn't understand a lot of things. Love is one of them.

Serene-

It's on the roof on a cool october night, Astro Zombies playing in her ears at full blast, that Theresa feels most serene.

Kisses-

English: so do you want me to get you a gift or some shit

Theresa is enjoying Postal Service when the message rings. She picks up her iPod, and smiles.

Theresa: No, a kiss is fine.

She types before realizing that /wow/ that is a weird request, they aren't even dating-

So she erases it quickly.

Theresa: dude, like, zero fucks are given.

Theresa sighs. Maybe some day.

Jealousy-

It is Blind rage, flashes across her vision, the color red.

It is gritting teeth, curled up in fetal position, hot, angry tears pouring out of her eyes.

Jealousy is everything Theresa hates about herself,

Perfected in somebody else.

Smile Like You Mean It (Songdrabble)-

There are times when the last thing she wants to do is smile.

She wants to scream.

She wants to cry.

Or maybe she just wants to sleep.

But a voice always rings in the back of her mind, an encouraging voice Theresa has come to hate.

'Smile like you mean it,' it tells her. 'Come on, smile like you mean it!'

Hatred-

Theresa knows, deep inside, that she could never really hate anybody.

But sometimes, she wants to.

Biased-

They talk about Riley sometimes. The girl everybody used to ignore, that suddenly became popular.

"Has anybody noticed she's.... Changed?" Mika asks.

"She's a bitch," Theresa answers instantly, not looking up from her book. "But I'm biased."
