Okay... I just feel like writing at this moment, I'm finishing up 'fangirl' by Rainbow Rowell and I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. I mean the fact there's Kind of a hype about it in the bookstagram and booktube community (at least there were, I'm just late to the game as always. Welcome to my life.) plus the fact, that I basically inhaled 'Eleanor and Park' really got my hopes up for this one to be just as good and emotionally touching.
At the beginning I was a little disappointed. Not gonna lie. I just couldn't find myself pick up the story. I mean I got it, but then again, I didn't got the WHY part. I didn't got, why Cath and Wren acted the way they did, why Rainow Rowell described certain situations. But now having about 30 pages left I like it. A lot. Even though I gotta admit, I skipped on all the Simon Snow parts, cause I wasn't interested in them and for me personally it took my reading flow away and was more a distraction than anything else. I didn't care at all what happened with SImon and Baz, but what I did care about was what happened with Cath, Wren and Levi, what they were up to, what they were feeling.
Okay, I'm done reading, finished it just a second ago and again, not happy about the ending. It didn't make me cry like 'Eleanor and Park' did, it didn't make me feel something Special, but it didn't leave me in Peace either, it wasn't a typical ending. It kinda feels like they're still Living on at this point, continuing their life and I'd really like to know what they're up to.
I also just had a thought about me not liking the whole 'Simon Snow' part, even though the story is Kind of based off of Cath's love for him. But I just don't like fantasy books in general. I mean, I do like certain kind of fantasy, just not the magic-kind-of-fantasy. It's a little bit like Harry Potter with me. I don't hate it, I just really couldn't care less (Don't throw shade on me pls.. I'm still gonna finish Harry Potter eventually.. some day.. ( only read the first three books so far)).
To finish this up, I was wondering, if any of you have read 'Fangirl' yet? If so, I'm dying to get to know your opinion on it..
ALso a huge thanks to the ones reading. Actually got a few reads now, not many, but still. I'm kind of proud, considering this isn't really an actual story-story. SO thanks. I appreciate it!
