It felt like it took days, years, decades even for my small little plant to draw near the sun again. And when I did, I felt her warmth. I felt it burn the surface of my planet and melt right through me. I wanted to stay in that moment, to stay there next to her but once again my orbit pulled me away. And she didn't stop it. She didn't try and alter gravity to prevent our separation. She watched with a sad smile as I swung back out into deep space. My once boiling and bubbling surface freezing over once again.
