Prologue
I don’t remember a time when I haven’t spent my life trying to measure up to my sister’s talents. Always talent-less, always nothing, never good enough. That’s me.
My name is Scarlett Adams, or you can refer to me as the ungifted of the two of us, as everyone else does.
Nothing I’ve ever done has ever been good enough to meet the standard of my sister’s accomplishments.
Being the younger of the two of us twins, my sister, Olivia has always gotten the best, leaving me with the short end of the stick. Sure, this happens to everyone sometime in their life. But your sister isn’t Olivia Adams, probably the most famous actress of our generation. With perfect looks and enough talent for an entire colony of people.
I swear, if she hadn’t been casted as an actor in a film as a kid, she would have found some other way to become wildly famous. Fame is fame, and Olivia’s picture is definitely listed under the definition of it in the dictionary.
Then there leaves me, ordinary, run of the mill Scarlett. Sure, I always had the better grades out of us two, but when you think about it, good grades really don’t count in the grand scheme of things.
Every time I had gotten a boyfriend, Olivia had somehow always manage to ‘accidentally’ step in the way of us. Every time I had done something out of the ordinary, like lets say winning the state science fair, she would get a casting in some movie and of course, all eyes would be glued to her. Sounds lame, I know, a science fair, but sounds even more lame if your accomplishments are being compared to ones of that are world wide.
I cant act, I cant sing, I cant dance, I cant entertain.
But Olivia can.
Jealousy is a wild understatement of the feelings I feel towards my older sister. I will never measure up to her, and the realization hurts, really.
Olivia has everything; a nice car, a huge house, a flawless career, talent. All of that sure is hard for me to handle, but something that's harder, is handling her boyfriend.
She has everything I want alright, and Zayn Malik is definitely classified under the category of something I want. . .
