Well, this was the one I had written on Teacher's Day, since even now, when I look back at all my teachers, from my childhood, till date, I find myself so lucky.. This is a tribute to all my teachers. And, to every teacher round the corners of the world
Teachers. Cause they are the ones who teach. They are the ones who held my fingers, when I was not old enough to decide, and guided me till I was old enough. They taught us the difference between right and wrong, between education and simply memorizing the books, between understanding and simply writing out the entire book in an answer sheet. And, now, when I'm 16, really old enough to take my decisions, I miss my teachers. I miss the warmth and light in their guidance. In their advice. Those words of wisdom spoken in love, showing us the right way always. But, teachers are different. Some taught us the basics of grammar, while some built moving images of the human system in motion. Some taught us the power of expression in reading a text, while some taught us the art of geography, spanning through continents and raging through mighty oceans, measuring time differences between Australia and India. Some taught us the romanticism in literature, while some read texts of kebabs and biriyani, and let us be hungry, there still being time for recess. Some quite exceptionally merged movies into texts while some taught us the likes of Premchand and Kabir, and let us be thoughtful for a while. Some taught us the tales of The Frog and The Nightingale, or Julius Caesar and his unwavering ambition, and how it lead to his subsequent downfall. Some taught us how the heart beats, why it beats, how blood is circulated, or how sodium or any Group-1 metals burn when put in water. They say time's a great teacher. But, I would say that I have been blessed with better teachers than Time, Destiny or Faith. A single day or a couple of words would never be enough to actually thank them for what all they did for us, but each day, I find myself so lucky to have been taught and still being taught and guided by the men and women who I respect more certainly than anyone else, my teachers. Happy Teachers Day, Sir/Mam, and may the Lord bless your life happy always.
