~Jake~
I sat down at the bar after we finished celebrating Charles's big case being solved. I took a deep breath when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and Gina smiled sympathetically at me.
"Amy's on her 7th drink. You know the no-filter one. No one lives close enough to her to get her home safely and then themself except you. Could you take her home?" Gina asks, and I turn to to Amy who is laying on the booth and I smile and laugh.
"Of course. She's never living it down!" I tell her happily and walk over picking her up bridal style and all she does is groan to go slowly so she doesn't puke. I awe in cuteness although I knew no-one caught me and I headed back to her house.
"Do you wanna hear a secret?" Amy asks and I smirk.
"Of course!" I tell her and she nods causing me to laugh softly as she thinks. We get to her house and I set her down on the couch when she pops up.
"I remember the secret!"
"Ok!" I smile.
"I'm in love with Jake Peralta! Shhhh don't tell him though." Amy then passes out on her couch. I stare at her gaping before I shake my head thinking drunk Amy is probably just confused. I put a blanket over her, and I leave a bottle of water out for her in the morning. I smile and lock her apartment before I head home.
When I get to my apartment and lay in my bedroom. I stare at the ceiling and just think about what Amy told me. What if she did mean it? Well I'll ask her tomorrow. Then I fell asleep a small smile on my face.
~3rd Person~
Amy woke up and groaned. She rubbed her head and saw the water bottle. She grabbed it and took a drink. She knew the hangover wasn't gonna go well. She changed and grabbed a dark pair of sunglasses and she didn't even notice the fact that she had a blanket covering her when she woke up.
She got ready for work normally and headed down to precinct. When she got there she saw her Captain sitting in his office doing work. Gina looking like she was hungover also. Charles was asleep on his desk and Rosa looked like normal Rosa except for the Sunglasses. She saw Terry do his normal routine and remembered he left early. What shocked her though was how Jake didn't look hungover at all.
When she sat down at her desk she realized she forgot her water and groaned. Jake then reached down under his desk and put a water bottle on her desk.
"Thanks," she whispers and takes a drink not noticing the small smile on his face.
"No problem," he replies and leaves it at that. He wanted to ask her about last night. He wanted to know it was true so he could confess again, but she had a rule 'no dating cops'. So through most of the day he helped the rest of the squad with their hangovers.
By the end of the day he decided he would ask her, so when she was passing by the storage closet that was big enough to not cause her claustrophobia. He pulled her in and locked the door. "Jake!" she whispered sharply not wanting to go any louder for her headache.
"Amy I have to admit something," ge sighs and holds her hands. She was confused and smiling lightly. "Last night 7th drink Amy told me you loved me. At that point I thought she was lying, but it kept me up all the night wondering it was true. Ok not all night, but some. Anyway I realized I liked you too, and I know you have no dating cops rule. But I needed you to know." Once Jake finished his speech and Amy was silent he sighed and moved her away from the door as he unlocked it and left.
He shut it gently not to disturb her headache. He gathered his things and walked into Holt's office. "I'm gonna leave early for the day. All my paperwork is filled out and lying on my desk."
"Ok you've worked a lot of overtime anyway take a break," Holt says and Jake nods before leaving.
Amy watches Jake leave and grabs her stuff right after he gets in the elevator. She looked at Holt and before she could say anything he said something. "Go get Peralta." She smiled and Charles perked up and cheers along with Rosa giving a thumbs up; Gina and Terry were smiling big and nodding. Amy ran to the elevator and shook her head before she headed for the steps, and bolted down them.
Jake was already halfway home sprinting as fast as he could before he let his tears fall that he knew she rejected him. "Jake! Stop!" He knew that voice and just kept running and as he bolted up the steps in his apartment building with Amy hot on his trail. When he gets to his apartment he unlocked the door and before he could shut it Amy slipped in. Jake groaned and laid down on his couch trying to hold back the tears wondering why she came.
"Jake..." She sighed squatting by him and rubbing his back he turned to her the tears falling and her heart shattered.
"Amy just go please..." he said softly and his voice sounded broken to her. He changed his gaze from her and to the floor as he sat up. Amy moved to sit on the coffee table and he sighed still not looking at her. She felt tears prick her eyes as she realized she caused this, and realizing he probably wouldn't talk to her anymore. She tilted his head to look at her and his eyes widened seeing her crying, and then they softened, "Amy?"
Amy didn't reply just started to get up to leave to not bother him, and thats when he pulled her into him causing her lips to meet his. It was the best kiss either had experienced, and it was because it was a true love kiss between two true loves.
As Amy broke the kiss for the need of oxygen. Jake had a small smile on his face realizing he just kissed his dream girl. He needed air too just not as much as Amy did. "I love you," Amy blurted out caught up in her fantasy of him kissing her.
"I love you too," he responded and then they kissed again this time with his arms wrapping around her waist as her hands entangled into his curly locks. It was deep meaningful kiss neither ever wanted to break, because in that moment it was a lifetime.
