Mark's reading The old man and the sea by Ernest Hemingway. It's very symbolic. A lot of meanings. Only 27,000 thousand words. The authors shortest novel. Those limited words emphasized the four letters and one word. HOPE.
This word he keeps on finding. The feeling he missed the most. He's already on the 127th, the last page of the book. His looks seems relax and contented. Maybe he let's his imagination to understand the deeper meaning of the novel. That's a common reaction when you're about to finish a book. Though wearing an eyeglasses, his eyes can't hide the emptiness. Almost having tears. Mark Soriano, a 25 year old man. Still young and has strong body built. Has golden tanned skin that makes him quiet attractive. We can't deny he's a head turner. Maybe his height? Tall enough to look at. Or his aura, he looks smart. Ok that's pretty obvious 'cause he excels at school! The neighbourhood knows that. Or another reason was when he starts to talk, women would feel comfortable and special. Everybody tells him that he was genuinely sweet ever since Mark was a young boy. His mom would strongly agree with that. As he finished reading, he observes as the sun hides it's beauty. What a beautiful sunset he thought. Though beautiful, hurt stings in Mark's heart. He can't help it, everytime he was alone as times like this. Even the fresh breeze from the sea doesn't help his tears from falling.
He.Remember.Her.Again. The woman he used to loved more than himself. The person he can't get over with til now. The beauty that contrasting ugliness was too late to discover. He was convinced with all his entire mind and heart that Miya was the one Mark's waiting for. Yes, it was Miya a kind of woman he wants to be with beyond grave. After all the heartbreaks he's been through he's now ready to take the risk. Ready to gamble again because of new love he found in her. Mark has positive thoughts on it. He thought he could help her bring out the best of her. But he was wrong. People would changed according to their own willingness. He gave everything to make Miya happy. Her happiness was his too. He gives every energy he has. The pure love he strongly believes that would saved their relationship. Til he doesn't recognized himself anymore. All of these become wasted. His pure heart became weary. Feels like his hopes turn into tiny broken pieces. Impossible to repair. The love of his life, turned him down. Went away just like that without explainations. Hanging him with countless WHYS????
Why Miya left him?
Why he didnt see it coming?
Why heaven allowed him to feel this way?
Why women leaving him?
Why he was so unlucky when it comes to love?
and the most painful part,
Why he's crying over a woman who doesn't deserves his tears.
How he could survived now? Is this book on his lap would help get through these mess? Is there hope for him?
