Twenty meters away from the man with emptiness. A petite woman with mid length dark hair, silently praying for the man she loves. She's praying that his sadness would disappear as the sun fades its' brightness.
How she wants to run towards him and hug him tightly. Drying his tears through her fingers. How she wished to cover his face with her palms. She restraint herself. She can't. The heart of the man of her dreams belonged to someone else.
She is Joy. Three letters. Only one sylable. Sounds adorable and lovely but opposite of her outward appearance. She looks okay at first glance but when you really look at her, there is something odd. Yes, she was different. She has facial disability which cause her half face paralyzed. She's not able to speak properly and smile. Children look at Joy with fears on their faces. She looks like a bad witch each time she hardly tries to smile at them. She wonders why they were so scared when she's around until one time she looks at the mirror and wears her typical smile. Now the mirror can't lie. It saddens her heart. Learning what makes herself scary in front of them. Every body at home tells her she's unique and beautiful in her own way. There's nothing wrong with her. Her mom and dad secured her that she was loved. Though people around Joy treated her differently, there was somebody who treated her as her parents did. He was Mark the man she's looking not so far from where she is now. They have known each other for so long. They shared the same neighborhood. Attended same pre school and highschool. Separated ways when Mark decided to pursue his studies outside the Island. And now he got a good job with high salary. Capable of raising family and children of his own. But everything's changed. Including him. His eyes full of gladness turns to loneliness. Those eyes who sees without sign of judgment. He was the only man who bravely befriended and treated her as a woman should be treated. She felt worthless sometimes and blaming her circumstances but when she remembers Mark's eyes, Joy remembers she has worth.
Time passes by but her hidden love to this man never fades. Her heartbeats still the same. She thinks he heard her racing heart when Mark look at her direction. Now any seconds would lead her to heart attack. Mark recognized her. How she misses him so bad. Now she smile back at him. Never mind if she looks like a creep. Doesn't care the twilight approaching. All she cared about was Mark is now smiling.
