Lucifer had been missing ever since the two of you broke up a few weeks ago, no one had seen him. You thought about him every day, worried he could literally be dead in a ditch, but you had to continue with your life.
You were walking down the steps to the precinct, head in a file when you heard a familiar British accent. You stood still, file open in your hands, staring at the back of Lucifer's head and the arm wrapped round a woman in a bright pink dress.

"Everyone, meet Candy Morningstar. My wife." Lucifer's voice echoed through the room, his smooth voice reaching your ears. Dan and Chloe's eyes moved from the duo in front of them to your shaking figure. The file slowly fell to the stairs, causing paper to float to the floor.
Lucifer realised Dan and Chloe were no longer looking at him. He turned around, seeing you standing on the stairs, tears threatening to fall. The smile fell from his lips only for a beat, the walls around his heart were back up.
Before he could say anything, you ran back up the steps, unable to hold back the tears any longer.
