[7:50pm] Pushing the door open an exasperated sigh left your mouth. You knew you'd find him here, he stood on the balcony. The sunset casted a warm glow on the satin drapes as you stalked forward onto the balcony next to him.
A small tired sigh fell from your lips as you blew a strand of hair out of your face. "Sire? You know you can talk to me right?"
Turning his head, a grim expression adorned his features. He quietly watched your side profile as the setting sun bathed your face in the pink and purpleish hues. The sound of the waves crashing against the rocky shore that bordered the kingdom could be heard.
"Sire? Stop frowning, your face might get stuck like that." Muttering through pursed lips you watched him from your peripheral.
Hanging his head Seoho let out a huff, running a hand through his hair. "I can't live up the expectations my father has of me. Just because I'm the eldest doesn't mean I'll be able to become king."
A lone single tear slipped down his cheek, watching the waves roll in. Glaring at the glittering waves you shook your head in dismay. Turning your head you watched him quietly, worrying your bottom lip. Moving closer to him, gently placing your hands atop of his, squeezing in reassurance. Slumping over the balcony railing Seoho's head hung.
"If you expect me to tell you that you'll have an easy time as king, then that's not what will be delievered. You're going to struggle, you'll have to make extremely difficult decisions, you're going to be surrounded by danger but; you're not going to have to bear these burdens and responsibilities by yourself. I'm going to be right there next to you the entire time, you're not going to have face this alone. I will bear these burdens with you, as will your friends." Voice cracking towards the end you turned away from him, never taking your hands off of his.
You had also started crying, it pained you to see him suffer silently. Seoho constantly told you and your friends to let him help bear your burden but never the other way around.
He finally fully looked at you, the way his eyes glistened under the sinking sun reminded you of the stars. Suddenly he lurched forward, arms wrapping around your waist, he was hugging you. Blinking twice realization hit, shifting in his hold, your arms wrapped around him, reciprocating the affection.
Pressing his face into your shoulder, "Thank you, thank you so much," he quietly cried.
The two of you stood there, the sinking sun casting a deep purple across the canvas of the sky. Waves crashing against the rocking shore, the wind quietly passing through the satin drapes, fluttering softly. Petting him gently on the head, you allowed him to release his built up emotions.
