Some are born, some carved from stone but they are tied together through fate. Those born of man must go on a journey to discover their other half of their soul. Some may not discover who their soulmate is during their lifetime and thence become a stone figure themself. This cycle repeats itself in a never-ending loop, no matter how many thousands of years pass each soulmate will find one another. Fate has no care for the gender of soulmates, they're bound by the soul, the purest form in existence.
This story is just one of the many written with the thread of time. A lone stone statue stood in the center of the city. The features were unbelievably life-like, long flowing hair and robes were etched into the statue. It looked as if the wind was pushing against the man, he held a hand in front of him, almost as if he were holding it out for another to hold it. His other hand was holding a sheathed sword, he must've been a warrior. However, no one knew the past of this certain male, he had been there ever since the city was built. Rumors surrounded this statue, it was the guardian of the city, always keeping a watchful eye over it's citizens; the gentle features of it's face was closely admired by many.
Kanghyun and his bandmates were merely on tour, visiting the city with the mysterious guardian. The hand of the statue offered to all who visited, each member took turns placing their hands into the awaiting palm. Picture after picture was taken, Kanghyun the last. A jolt went through his hand as soon as he touched the statues hand. However, he ignored the feeling and turned toward his members, posing for the photo. He felt calm, the hand was ice cold to the touch.
The cool palm start to become warm, the feel of the hand also seemed to change. The hand felt more human, however, Kanghyun ignored it. He just thought it to be his own body heat warming the stone.
"Oh woah." Dongmyeong breathed, pointing towards the statue over Kanghyun's shoulder. The others also seemed shocked at what they were seeing.
Alerted by their reactions he turned just in time to catch a man falling from the pedestal. He looked at Yonghoon, worry eminent on his face. They rushed towards them, circling them as Harin looked up at the empty pedestal everything connecting. The man seemed disoriented, coughing as he tried to stand pushing himself away from Kanghyun. He looked as if he just came out of a novel from the Dynasties.
Steadying himself the man looked up, his green eyes meeting Kanghyun's brown ones. He quietly clenched the sword in his right hand. His eyes searched the slightly taller male's face, a flash of an unrecognizable emotion flashed across his face before he moved closer to him, hiding behind him. Dongmyeong and the other three men looked between the two males, confusion evident on their faces.
"Kanghyun..." The man murmured before turning to examine his surroundings.
Kanghyun on the other hand seemed shocked that the man who was previously stone knew his name. Without thinking he reached for the males' hand, interlocking their fingers. "Y/N."
Y/N turned to look at him a small smile present on his features. He looked behind Kanghyun to see the other four men. "Hello, excuse me, but what year is it?"
Dongmyeong and Cya were standing there slack-jawed, Harin shook his head before waving his hand a Y/n with a smile. "Year's 2020, welcome to the future."
