The Other Side (Book 2)

The New Portal

Harvey woke up breathing heavily. "Where am I?" 

He stood up and ran out of the woods back into his house. He ran up to his and locked the door, then into his room still breathing heavy. Harvey looked at his arms to see cuts and bruises all over them.

(The next morning)

"Wake up. Harvey I said wake up!" Mal yelled and made Harvey jump.

"What? What time is it?" Harvey asked rubbing his eyes.

"Time for you to get up and take a shower!" Mal answered, then shut the door.

Harvey looked at the time, then jumped out of bed and ran into the bathroom.

"Good morning." Harvey greeted his family.

"Morning sweetie." His mom replied.

Harvey and Mal got in Harvey's truck and drove off to school.

"Sabrina hey!" Harvey waved and ran over to her.

It was first period and Mal and Ben had that class together. 

"Okay has anyone seen Audrey anywhere?" The teacher questioned.

Right after that Audrey walked in. "Sorry I'm late."

Audrey sat down beside Ben. She winked at him. Ben smiled at her and Mal looked at him confused.

After class Ben was walking out and Mal walked up to him. 

"What was that about?" Mal wondered.

"What was what about?" Ben looked over at her. He was holding his bag with one strap.

"Between you and Audrey? I saw her wink at you and you smiled back." Mal explained.

"Really? I can't smile at someone. Isn't she your friend?" Ben was asking.

"She is, but you shouldn't be smiling at her when she winks at you." Mal told him, then walked away.

Later Harvey walked into class and saw Audrey sitting down.

"Hey Audrey!" Harvey ran up to her.

"Can I help you?" Audrey looked up at him. 

"What happened to you last night? What did you do to me?" Harvey was asking her.

"Harvey I have no idea what you are talking about." Audrey responded.

"Mr. Kinkle can you please take a seat?" The teacher said.

"Yeah sorry." Harvey replied and sat down and kept glancing at Audrey once in a while.

After school Ben was walking to his car when Audrey ran up to him.

"Hey Ben." Audrey said.

"Hey Audrey. You need something?" Ben turned to her.

"You think you could give me a ride home? I want to get to know you better." Audrey explained.

"I'm supposed to be taking Mal home." Ben told her.

"Well maybe we could do something later." Audrey suggested.

"Yeah. Yeah sure." Ben nodded.

"Cool. Here's my number." Audrey grabbed Ben's hand and put a paper in his hands.

"Hey Ben." Mal walked up. "Oh hey Audrey." 

"Hey Mal." Audrey slightly smiled. 

"Well I'll see you later." Ben smiled at Audrey, then got in the car.

"What did Audrey want?" Mal questioned when she shut the door.

"She wanted me to give her a ride home." Ben answered.

"But you said no?" Mal asked.

"I told her I was taking you home." Ben said.

They got to Mal's house, but neither of them moved.

"Ben?" Mal looked over at him.

"Yes Mal?" Ben looked at her.

"You'd... Never mind. I'll see you tomorrow." Mal kissed Ben, then got out.

(Later that night)

Ben was in his room listening to music when he got a text from someone.

Unknown: Hey Ben it's me Audrey

Ben: How'd you get my number?

Audrey: Someone gave it to me

Ben: Oh well what's up then?

Audrey: I wanted to know if you wanted to do something

Ben: Uh yeah sure. When and where?

Audrey: My place? Here I'll send you the address

Ben: Okay I'll be there

A few minutes later Ben knocked on Audrey's window. Audrey ran over to the window and let him in.

"Hey you made it." Audrey smiled.

"Yep." Ben climbed in and closed the window. "Nice room." 

"Thanks." Audrey replied. "Come sit"

"Yeah sure." Ben nodded and sat on the bed with her.

"I really like you Ben." Audrey told him, then kissed him. 

Ben kissed back, then stopped and pulled away. "No I can't do that to Mal."

"You're right." Audrey agreed nodding. "Can I show you something then?"

"Yeah of course." Ben responded.

"Okay follow me." Audrey climbed out of the window with Ben following.

She brought him to the woods where the portal was.

"Uh... Audrey what are we doing here?" Ben asked confused and freaked out.

"It wants a new body. So I'm trying to give it a new body." Audrey answered, then her eyes turned red like Harry's.

She started pushing Ben's towards the portal.

"No! Help! Someone help me!" Ben was yelling.

He turned around and Audrey was gone. 

"Ben? Are you okay?" Sabrina checked. 

Ben looked around and Audrey and the portal were both gone. "I... I gotta go." Ben ran back to his car at Audrey's house and drove away.

(At midnight)

"I'm sorry I couldn't get him, but don't worry I will get Harvey back here. He knows something's wrong with me. So he'll try and figure it out. That's when we'll trap him and you'll get you're new body." Audrey was talking to the portal.
