It was their official 3 year anniversary, 3 years since the wedding. Both girls knew that they were going to end up together, that was inevitable. But still, Santana was a nervous wreck that night. They had started with dinner at a high end restaurant, special connections due to Santana being royalty. She didn't want to do anything too extravagant. She knew that it would be much more appreciated if she did a small, intimate proposal. After food at the restaurant, they went for a walk in the local park. Santana wanted to bring Brittany here because this is where they came after the wedding. They came here and sat on the bench facing the pond and talked about what the reunion meant for them. The girls ended up sitting there for hours. Then finally, they went back to the castle. Santana wanted to do this in the place that means the most to both of them. It was their spot. It wasn't Santana's spot anymore, it was more than that. They had experienced their first kiss, love, heartbreak in that spot. No matter what happens, both will have a special place in their heart for that spot. Santana had previously laid out rose petals, forming a trail to the swing. Santana made a sweet and simple speech that went
'I never really understood love or the people who sung about it , I always thought it was someone you just cared for deeply but then you walked into my life and suddenly all the love songs were about you. Some people spend there whole life searching for what we've got and I know it took me a while to realise but I can promise right now, I will never forget. I can look at you for a single moment and come up with 1000 different things I love about you, I'm looking at you right now and I can think of a million things I'd like to tell you but I know we don't have all day so if you wouldn't mind giving me the rest of your life to tell you instead, well you'd make me the happiest girl in the world. So please do me the honour of becoming my always, my soulmate, my forever best friend, the person I can wake up to at 4am, roll over, see your face and know that I'm right where I'm supposed to be and become my wife?'
Both girls were in tears at the end of the speech and Brittany launched herself into Santana's arms, not being able to string a sentence together. When both girls finally calmed down, Brittany ended the hug and said one simple word,
'Yes.'

It's been 5 years since the wedding. 2 years since they got engaged. Today is their wedding. Today is the day that Santana and Brittany will unite as one and forever be together. It is everything Santana had dreamed of. She was there with Quinn, her beautiful fiancé in a room across the venue and her parents were here. The king and queen had overcome all of their ignorance and prejudice and realised that Santana was still their daughter. Now when they looked at her, they didn't see a disappointment like they once did, they saw a strong beautiful woman who was capable of getting over anything that life throws at her. The couple spent the night apart last night. The first night in 5 years. Even when Santana would have to attend a royal duty or when Brittany had to stay overnight in the hospital because she broke her leg. They were by each other's sides 25/8 and nothing could break their bond.
Santana was in her room getting ready. She heard a knock on the door so she walked over and opened the door to reveal an ecstatic Quinn.
'Today's the day!' Quinn practically screamed.
'Calm down! You're making me nervous.'
'Okay, sorry.' Quinn stated with a bit of a teasing tone on her voice. The girls quickly started getting Santana ready.
After another half an hour of doing Santana's hair and makeup, Santana got up out of her chair and said
'I can't do this. I gotta go.' She goes to leave but Quinn grabs her arm and spins her around.
'No. I won't let you do that. Not to her. Not to yourself. You guys have been waiting for this for your entire lives. You have wanted a big extravagant wedding since we were little kids, so I will not allow you to do this. Get it together and snap out of it.' Santana wasn't taken aback by this because she is used to angry Quinn. When Quinn wants something, she gets it. She doesn't know how Rachel puts up with her some days.
'Okay. I don't know what I was thinking. What was I thinking?! I love Brittany, I want to spend the rest of my life with Brittany!' Santana replied.
'Exactly! You're getting it now!'
'Oh my god Quinn, I'm so excited.'
'I know you are. Now let's finish getting you ready and let's get married!'
—————————————————————
Brittany walked down the aisle first. She was led down the aisle by her dad, Pierce Pierce. Her dress flowed behind her, hugging her top half and flowing out past her legs. It had gems around the belt that was tied to her waist and had lace on the bottom half of the dress. Everyone looked at her in awe, they were blown away by the woman that was standing in front of them. She went to stand on one side of the altar, joining her sister and Rachel. She had to have her sister as her maid of honour and her and Rachel had grown quite close over the last few years.
Now it was Santana's turn. She walked down the aisle, being led by her father, the king. Her dressed trailed behind her as she walked down the aisle. Her dress hugged her figure in all the right places and had simple detailing all down the sides. Quinn looked at her best friend, so proudly. When Quinn saw her, it reminded her of the times when they were younger and would play wedding, both girls would take turns in being the bride and they used a white pillowcase as a veil. Quinn was so proud at how far Santana had come since they were both kids. She had overcome many different challenges that life had thrown at her and she was still standing here, being her true self. When Brittany turned to look at Santana, she couldn't help but cry. The same for Santana. She saw Brittany and teared up. The girls couldn't believe that they were finally here. Santana went and joined Quinn on the opposite side of the altar and the officiator began his speech.
'Today, we are all joined together to celebrate the union of Santana Lopez and Brittany Pierce. I hear that this union has been long awaited so I am very grateful to be standing here today, bringing you two together. Now comes the part I hate, if anyone has any objections to the union of this couple, please speak now.' Silence could be heard throughout the church. 'Great. Now that that's over and done with, have you guys written any vows?' He asks.
'Yes we have.' Santana chimes in. 'I'll go first. Brittany, we met each other over 5 years ago. I seriously do not know how because it seems like I met you yesterday. But at the same time, it feels like I've known you all my life. We started as best friends and we'll end as wives. From the moment I saw you, well heard you,' Brittany chuckled at that. 'I knew that I loved you. I hoped that we would end up together. I treated you horribly during that second month but I know that you've forgiven me and I know that it was just a blip in our relationship. It's been 5 years and I still love you just as much as I did before, maybe more. From the moments we spent cuddling in my bedroom, to us cuddling in our spot,' she said whilst emphasising the word 'our'. 'I can't wait to see where these next few years take us. And the few years after that. And the few years after that. I love you Britt.'
'Brittany, your vows now please.'
'Mine are nothing compared to her's but I'll give it a try. You changed me as a person. I was a bubbly and happy person. I was also hiding something in myself. I wasn't able to be my true self because I feared what other people would think. I didn't have a friend, I didn't have anyone I could talk to. All my life I struggled with meeting friends so that made me question myself and it made me push away anything true of myself. But meeting you changed that. Meeting you made me realise I shouldn't care what people think. You met me at my most 'me' moment. I was singing and dancing in your dining room and you still managed to like me. You allowed me to be my true self and I never thought that would be possible. We definitely had our ups and downs but in the end I think that they brought us closer together. We experienced what life was like without each other and I don't know about you but I hated it. I locked myself away in my bedroom, barely talking to anyone. If it wasn't for Quinn phoning me on this day 5 years ago, I wouldn't be standing here right now. And if I was not standing here, I would be hating my life right now. Knowing that I let my one true love get away. I love you too San.'
'Now onto the important part. Brittany Pierce, do you take Santana Lopez to be your lawfully wedded wife?'
'I do.'
'Santana Lopez, do you take Brittany Pierce to be your lawfully wedded wife?'
'I do.'
'Well then, I now pronounce you wife and wife. You may kiss the bride.'
Brittany pulled Santana into a kiss and both girls could barely process what had just happened. They had just gotten married. Brittany grabbed Santana's hand and they walked down the aisle, as everyone stood up and clapped. They were now married, they had been through so much shit but they overcame it and in the end, they ended up together.
