Komal's family was tired of her stories and speculations about Aamirul. They had even taken her to various psychiatrists often wondering if she had a psychological disorder. Little did they know that it was her way of coping with bullying and loneliness. In the depth of her imaginations, she was lost in these thoughts.
In the living room, news of a terror attack in Jammu flooded the television screen. Komal overheard the news presenter talking about the dangers that a particular community posed in the country. She couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness. She asked Aamirul not to feel sad as the news presenter was an ignorant element like many others that dominated the public fora.
At night, as she lay on the pillow and closed her eyes, memories of the day and flashes of the news presenter flooded her mind.
"The man on the television, he went to school, he seems to be educated, what makes him speak in such a crass manner"? Komal asked her mother thoughtfully.
Her mother replied, "Well, he is neither smart nor sensitive like you. You cannot blame him though, the majority of people of the world do not care about what others would feel about their comments.
