Abbie turns to the Doctor who called her name. "Yes, that's me". A polite smile stretched across her face. Clearly taking a lot of energy.
"I'm the Neurologist who will be running all of Mr Griffins tests. My name is Dr Pressman"
"Nice to meet you Dr Pressman" Abbie says.
"Before I discuss anything with you, are you happy for the two ladies to stay and hear everything I'm about to say?" He asks.
"Yes, they're my daughters" Abbie says without hesitation.
"That's fine. Jake's MRI results show no brain activity, now this can mean a number of things as I'm sure you know. So throughout the rest of today and tonight with your consent we're going to run all the tests we can to determine whether your husband can hear us, can breathe by himself and if he can survive this"
Abbie just slowly nods her head to the news. Raven and Clarke instantly confused. Clarkes cheeks become tear stained before she even has the chance or opportunity to stop it, but before she can get a hand up to wipe the tears Raven had embraced her in a strong hung. Both girls instantly sobbing into one another's shoulders.
The doctor spoke a few more words with Abbie before leaving the family alone.
"Mum I-i don't get it" Clarke shakily said.
"There's a chance your father might never wake up from the coma, they're trying to get all the tests done quickly so we can all know and process the news whether good or bad"
"But it's going to be good isn't it Mrs Griffin" Raven says, eyes puffy.
"You know our Jake, he'll pull through" She says walking over to him.
His body covered in machines, countless tubes running in and out of him. His face covered in cuts, parts of his hair shaven where they've cut it to stitch the open wounds.
Grabbing her husband's hand, carefully, Abbie slowly gave it a kiss and held onto it, making sure she didn't touch or disturb any of the wires.
"You'll be just fine won't you" Abbie says to him.
Just as everyone in the room was sitting down, a team of nurses came in and started to unplug everything, ready to transport Jake.
Dr Pressman was the last to walk in. "Mrs Griffin with your written permission we would like to take Jake down for an EEG to see if there is any electrical activity in his brain"
"Yes thats fine" Abbie says grabbing the documents and signing all the papers.
Before they wheeled Jake out all the women in the room quickly gave him a kiss on the forehead.
Clarke quickly pulled out her phone reading everything she could on EEG's, how they work, what they do, how long they usually take. Anything, she was doing it to keep herself occupied and her mind busy but also cause she wanted to understand what was going to be said when her father was brought back.
Raven too was on her phone, messaging Luna who has been concerned for both the girls since they left the house. Raven and Luna was the most unusual pairing. Raven being more into mechanics where as Luna was all for the sea and nature. Anything to do with wildlife and the ocean she was all over it. The friend group didn't get it when they first became friends, it seemed as if they would have nothing to talk about, but slowly everyone saw it, the spark in their eyes when they saw each other, the way their body language changed around each other. Soon no one was shocked when Raven and Luna walked up to the table one day holding hands.
Plus they're both horny as hell, and have zero shame in telling people what they do together.
Clarke and Raven had been friends for years. Raven was so chatty when she was younger, still is now. Clarke met her when they was at school, when they was 7. Raven had a burn on her arm, trying to invent something great probably, Clarke was quick to spot the burn one day in class and ask if she needed someone to take care of her. That day forward it blossomed. They where inseparable. Sleep overs where constant. And as the girls started getting older, they where more like sisters. Ravens mum wasn't around much so she spent all her time with the Griffin's. Jake helped her blow less stuff up and get her more into machines and technology, she attributes all of her prizes to Jake. Every time Raven has won something she will thank Jake for all the hard work and effort he has put into her and her hobbies.
Raven even came out to Jake before anyone. They was fixing the new car he had just bought, its a vintage one and was dirt cheap, so he decided him and Raven could fix it up and turn over the profits. Raven's head just wasn't in it. She was 13 at the time and kept making silly mistakes for someone as good as she is. Jake was quick to notice it and he sat her down and asked her if everything was ok with her mother, which it wasn't, but it was never ok with her mother. A drunk who was of with any man that gave her the smallest bit of attention. Raven said 'No but when is it ever?' to which Jake laughed and replied with 'Tell me whats wrong then'.
At that point Raven started crying, fully sobbing into the readily open arms of Jake.
*flash back*
"What is it?" Jake says rubbing Ravens back.
Raven took in a big deep breath. "I'm gay".
Jake's face instantly softened. "And you're crying because?" He asked.
"I don't want you to not like me" She says crying heavily.
"Hey, hey look at me" Jake says lifting Ravens head. "There is nothing in this world that will make me think anything less of you or not like you anymore. You hear me? You're the second daughter I never had. I love you just as much as I love Clarke. You hear me Raven?"
The young girl just nodded.
"Although, if a girl ever breaks your heart I will no hesitate to make their life hell"
That comment made Raven laugh and look up at Jake. "I love you dad" She says hugging him.
"I love you too squirt".
*end flash back*
New tears fall down Ravens face.
"What's wrong Rae" Clarke says quickly at her friends side.
"He needs to pull through Clarke, I don't know what I would do" She cries.
"Me either Rae, but no matter what we've always got each other" She cuddles Raven tightly.
HI IM SHIT. enjoy, I'm sorry. love you all xx
