I parked the car back in the garage, afraid to start the talk I had to start. I didn't know how would Dad react. I was hoping he'd be happy for me, but there was always the possibility that he wouldn't be.
I mean, he made a deal with a stranger to marry me. I wouldn't have ever expected that. My bestest friend to do that, you know?
It hurts. Badly. It feels like betrayal. I hate it. I hate it, because I never expected to feel it from my own father. Hell, I didn't expect to feel it from anyone close to me.
My phone buzzed once again from one of Dad's or Enzo's phone calls. I didn't pick up.
I exhaled and wiped the tears left on my cheeks. I opened the door and got out of the car, returning back in the house.
I was instantly engulfed by a pair of arms I didn't recognise. "Thank God you're alright!"
What the fuck?!? Who the fuck was this? I meant, he was a guy, a little taller than me, but he was a total stranger. And he was squeezing me so tight I couldn't even take a look at the freak.
"Uhm, dude, get off!" I groaned pretty loudly in his arms, struggling out of his grip.
"Mi scusa…(I'm sorry…)" He released his grip over me, taking two short steps back.
I stared closely at him, my eyes narrowing him down. The guy was quite a view, I couldn't deny it, but he didn't compare to Axel.
He had warm emerald eyes and dirty blonde hair with olive, slightly tanned skin. His chin had a slight stubble, and his brows were thin, probably plucked. He had on a kind smile which lit up his features. He looked pretty good in a pink t-shirt with a pair of super ripped blue jeans, but by the lack of hair on his arms I would've said he was waxing. And tanning. And the scent of aftershave kinda gave him away.
Metrosexual…
"Hi, I'm Davide." He rubbed the back of his neck looking genuine, but something about him gave me an unsettling feeling of distrust. I didn't like him. "I'm your fidanzato. (fiance)"
My breath caught at the sound of his statement. Not so new, though. But why was he here? I missed for merely two hours to calm myself down, which didn't work. At all. I had to call Axel to do that and with that, I also managed to explain him what happened.
His tone wasn't so joyful, which pretty much described what I felt like, but he still focused on me. I couldn't ask more from him, though.
I shook my head slowly, raising my hands to stop him from coming any closer to me. "I-I'm sorry, but you are not my fiance."
I took several steps back, until I hit the door with my back. My gaze was splattered over the floor, anger boiling my blood along with fear and sadness.
"I can understand if your father didn't explain to you the whole situation and our deal, but I am-"
I cut his authoritarian sentence straight before he finished it, raising my cutting gaze to his eyes. "I know about your deal with my father. I know about me getting married to you and I know that I didn't agree to it so you have no fucking right to call me your fiance."
His expression changed from the warmth he held into an undescribable anger. I still didn't let down my guard. I was holding my ground.
"Ven!" Enzo pulled me in a hug, completely covering my view from the so called my fiance.
He held me in his arms so damn tight I couldn't even breath. I tapped his shoulder with a smile which made him pull away. He looked at me carefully, a small frown dropping his brows. "I told Dad. About…" He glanced over his shoulder at Davide before he coughed. "You know what."
