Jihyo was trying to maintain a long distance relationship with her best friend, but it was becoming tiresome. First thing to get around was the time difference. Then there was personal and work schedules. Then there was the new friends and the old ones slowly becoming forgotten.

Jihyo had tried. Really tried to keep in contact with Nayeon after she moved away, but it just got harder and harder. When she thought about it now, it made her feel like curling into a ball and tucking her head away forever. She wanted so badly to run into Nayeon's arms and cry and tell her over and over again how much she missed her and how sorry she was that she stopped the calling and the texting.

She wanted to rewind and start over.

Nayeon sat on her bed, her fingers hovering over the green call button for face-time. It had been what seemed like an eternity since she had talked, or even thought about Jihyo. Her best friend. Could she even call her that anymore? She didn't know. She guessed time decided that for her.

She wondered what would happen if she pressed call. Would Jihyo pick up? Would she be angry? Would she even want to talk?

Nayeon shook her head, the feeling of longing to great to resist.

She pressed down.

It was in an instant that Nayeon saw Jihyo's face for the first time in five years. It didn't matter how long it had been, or how far apart they were in that moment.

All they saw was each other.
