Dessy POV. |

"Desiree, I'm not paying you to slack off!" I scoffed. Slack off? I'm the only working thing in this damn hell hole. I kept my mouth shut though and walked over to another table. "Hi, I'm Desiree, How can I help you?" A girl with brown eyes and blonde curly hair looked up at me.

"Hey, I want a cheeseburger, large fry, and a chocolate sundae." I wrote down everything on the notepad. "OK. Your food will be here soon." I turned on my heel and walked in the kitchen.

"Ava, I need a cheeseburger and a large fry with a chocolate sundae." Ava nodded and went to the back. I walked to the register. "Welcome To Keela's, How may-" My face lit up. "Jayden!" Jayden smiled. I smiled back. "How'd you know I worked here?" "Mya."

I nodded. "Can I get you something?" I asked. "Yea, Umm... Steak special?" I nodded. "Ava, one steak special!" I turned my attention back to Jayden. "Umm. What made you stop by?" I asked. Jayden chuckled. "Damn Baby, I cant come see my girl?" I blushed.

"Sorry, Its just people don't usually come visit me during work." Jayden  smirked. "Well, get used to it Dessy. You'll be seeing me alot."

***********

Jayden decided to walk me home since I wasn't exactly far and neither was he. Considering we lived on the same street. "Do you live alone?" Jayden asked. I tugged at my pony tail and shook my head. "I have two brothers." I said. Jayden put his hands in his pocket.

"I almost forgot, I bought this yesterday for you. It reminds me of you." Jayden pulled out a long velvet black box. I gasped. "Jay you didn't have-"

"I wanted to." He said cutting me off. I blushed. We finally walked up to my house. Jayden put his hands in his pockets. The lights were on meaning DeQuan or Mykel were here. "I would invite you in but...."

"Yea, I have to go visit my grandma anyway." I nodded. "Well. Um..." I kissed Jayden on the cheek. "I'll see you later, right?" I asked with hope in my voice. "Yea, call me when you settle in." I nodded and then smiled. Jayden smiled back. His braces gleamed under the dim light.

"Night Dessy."

"Night Jay."

I turned around and headed to the door, but not before looking back to see Jayden still standing there. I smiled to myself and screamed inwardly. It showed that he cared.
