I played with the full pack of my cards in my hands, thinking back to our earlier conversation.
"Do you know how to play spit I said?" We had been in science, me, him, and Jake were sitting together talking about inside jokes the guys had. I longed to be a part of their group.
Just one of the guys. Laughing and keeping away from drama. Talking about the latest school sporting event over a game of cards. Just a nice simple life.
"No," he responded. "How do you play?" I remember telling Jake to explain, only to be followed by some whispering between the two. I had wondered if they had caught on to the fact that I liked him.
How could they? I'm still not sure if I even do.
But after some extent whispering and slight laughs, they had faced me once again. Once again he had asked, "How do you play?"
Before I could open my mouth the bell rang. I figured my best bet was to point to Jake with a slightly shrug as I walked off and said, "I'll explain at lunch."
So know I'm here at lunch, sitting two seats down from my regular spot, and one table down from him. I waited a bit before I waved the deck, just enough to get his attention... Along with the girl sitting in between us.
After seeing me, he quickly finished his lunch and told one of his friends to join him as he walked over to my table.
